Add on the fact that black and brown people are over prescribed c sections in the US and the systemic racism is clear.
C-sections are overprescribed for white people in the USA. (I don’t mean that in a “all lives matter”.) Brown people are even more excessive. Patient welfare is low on the list.

You're correct. Hospitals request it because it speeds up maternity stays, drives up bills, doctors are advised to because it has less "risk" for malpractice. Long term health issues increase with c-sections.
its more expensive, SURGERY= more profit for a hospital/surgeon+ hospital stay, medicaiton,,etc. obviously if the mother has a baby they cant deliver naturally, other than that its an upsell. C-sections also makes the mother have to heal for some years before having another baby.
Well, in civilized countries, it is a health choice taken by doctors based on a benefice/risk analysis. And the cost (of operation and healing) is covered by society. In abusive countries, it is just a matter of profit.

What's even sadder is that in generic polls over 60% of Americans want a form of universal healthcare. The problem is the current system is so good at extracting money from people pushes for real change get immense push back from the entrenched medical industry. Even looking past the shitty corrupt insurance companies basically all pharmaceutical companies around the globe benefit from it too much to to let it go quietly. Americans only account for 27% of global income for pharma but are 64 - 78% of profits. What comfort? Recovery from c section is long and painful, requiring help with everything for weeks. Compared to that, vaginal delivery is a breeze.

It's a community for people who want to commune with similar-minded people, actually. That encompasses a wide spectrum, including people who simply don't want kids of their own, right up to antinatalists, but notably not people who have or want kids of their own.

I thought everybody in the US got a C section for the hospital's convenience. I knew someone who had a lot of trouble finding a location for a natural birth because it would mess up the scheduling and it might occur outside of daytime hours. It was Texas though...
Not everyone. I was under the assumption that C-sections were kinda last resorts. I believe myself and all my siblings were vaginal births, and my child was, too. Granted, the "Texas" part of your comment is probably doing a lot of work.
Yeah, that's not a thing, even here in Texas. It's a last resort that virtually any doctor would prefer natural vs c section.
I will say, they do kind of want you at the very last stages of contractions before you show up at the hospital though.
