The Far Right's Rise

Imagine knowing anything about the history of Germany over the last 80 years and thinking this is a "rise". De-Nazification was a lie. Germany's been thick with fascists for generations. What you're seeing today is The National Enemy pivoting from Evil Communists to Evil Muslims when the country is more reliant than ever on international trade and travel. That's resulting in a domestic schism rather than a White Nationalist unifying force. Just look at the fucking map. It's a fault line right down the old East/West divide.

The AfD is a problem for Germany because it's splitting the corporate bourgeois internationalists from the domestic working-class bigots. Those German fuckers wish this was 1930s National Socialism. Instead, they're getting a 1920s crack-up.

Same reason Estonia and Lithuania and Bulgaria and the former Yugoslavian states are now flush with fascists.

The Shock Doctrine rapidly dismantled all the things about socialist states that people liked and injected a ton of right-wing resentment politics to divest the reformist replacement politicians of responsibility for the downturn. Bulgaria, in particular, is a real textbook case of rapid decline and resulting public insanity. But East Berlin is another classic example. People were impoverished in the wake of reunification. And the reason for that impoverishment was made plain in the now-western-owned media. Immigrants, corrupt socialist bureaucrats, and evil foreigners were all to blame.

All fascist movements share the same essential DNA of hate, they are all reproductively compatible no matter how ideologically disparate they might seem, all that is necessary in the end is the idolation of strength and purity.

It is the same reason why in the present day russia finds almost all of its support in europe from the rightwing.

...and your input about centering everything around a grand narrative of "China Bad" is often completely unrelated to the issues truly at hand, you appear terminally unable to process information about geopolitics without fitting it into a reductive and forced cold war style dichotomy of us vs. China... so again you only encourage me to listen to others in this thread the more you raise your voice about geopolitical matters.
