Delicious.

Finally, some fucking context in this community.

The reddit repost drought is paused?

[-] deathmetal27@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

All of my memes are original and not reddit reposts.

I was referring to the other history memes poster who's been hogging the feed with uncontexted posts from reddit.

Sorry for the confusion, we appreciate you

IMO providing context is just basic human decency.

[-] the_fuckler@nord.pub 4 points 2 weeks ago

I think that's the problem with that other guy. They've automated their posts and don't want to be fucked to actually use the site to interact with anyone or discuss anything.

Maybe you haven't seen it though, I'm realizing they're posting on a different instance than this one

[-] deathmetal27@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah, I've seen them.

I kinda miss pugjesus's posts though since I myself am somewhat lazy when writing contexts.

Me too. But I greatly appreciate the links, none the less

Jesus

In their biographies of Zhang Xun, the Old and New Book of Tang (finished between 945 and 1060) – the primary official dynastic histories covering the Tang period – estimate that about half of the original population of 60,000 people (including the troops) were eaten. When the city finally fell, "there were only 400 survivors", all of whom were soldiers. No civilians seem to have survived.[5][6]

Eating the concubine was something else too man ...

That's enough Internet for me for today.

Admittedly it is unlikely all of those people were eaten and none of the sources here are what we would call "good".

Regardless I do think Zhang Xun was looking for a reason

I should have put an NSFL tag

[-] lobut@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 weeks ago

I mean, I knew what I was getting into and kept reading ...

thanks for sharing, I do love learning things no matter how gruesome they may be sometimes
