Dear Canada,

Please consider invading California. Think of the win-win. You get San Diego, the movie industry, and better wine. We get health care, and safety for people who are different.

So come on down. We'll probably surrender. My wife and I are so polite, we're often mistaken for Canadians. We'll even learn to say "aboot."

Think aboot it, eh?

Sincerely,

Me

[-] TerdFerguson@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 hours ago

It’s a-bout. Like a boxing match. A bout.

How tf you all ever got a-baowt from that is beyond me.

[-] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 11 points 5 hours ago

The only "lesson" Canada is being taught is that we can't trust the USA and its leaders.

[-] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 hours ago

oh, we've already been taught it. it's just being reinforced stronger every day

[-] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 hours ago

We knew that before the BNA act.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 8 points 6 hours ago

All this fucking around weeks before the midterms. We'll see who gets "taught a little lesson".

[-] tempest@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 hours ago

Based on everything that's happened in the last 10 years, and how his camp has been preparing, I expect to see the Dem's lose even more.

They're not even putting up a fight though, they absolutely know how to get votes and what kinds of things the citizenry want, but those things go against their "donators" so they're never going to move to the left and actually get things fixed.

We're absolutely 100% going to watch America fall into civil war again in the best case scenario. Worst case is we get Fascist America until someone stronger destroys them and 75-100% of the planet with them.

[-] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 8 points 6 hours ago

trump went on to say, "...and I don't care how many american people or american businesses have to suffer while I teach those nasty Canadians to kneel.".

[-] betanumerus@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 hours ago

Canada will choose who we take lessons from thank you.

[-] TerdFerguson@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 hours ago

No, that’s “A tight little lesson’.

Oi maybe “A little tight, loosen” (that one is different)

[-] DeadEndLink@lemmy.ca 7 points 7 hours ago

Dude is a pedophile. His supporters and donors are moral degenerates.

[-] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 15 points 10 hours ago

Jesus fuckintg christ he still talks like a dirty pedo.

[-] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 hours ago

That is because he still IS a dirty pedo m'guy.

[-] RodgeGrabTheCat@lemmy.ca 16 points 11 hours ago

We should teach trump a lesson called 'starve without potash'.

[-] nik282000@lemmy.ca 8 points 8 hours ago

How about 'electricity is now a luxury'.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca -2 points 6 hours ago

Not sure why this myth persists, Canada bought 2.1tW of electricity from US last year.

[-] nocklobster@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

Canada exports more than 30tw/h to Yankees while they export 20ish tw/h back

Edit: annually

[-] AlecSadler@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 13 hours ago

Fuck the US, go Canada. Source: US citizen.

[-] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 34 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

The only lesson Canadians are learning is to never trust the US again.

This rich spoiled shit bag has spent his entire life feeling entitled to get anything he wants, often using any means at his disposal to get it. And now he decided he is entitled to getting full control over Canada's natural and human resources. He thinks that by inflicting pain on our people it will allow him to enslave the entire country. He doesn't give a crap about the suffering he is causing on either side of the border.

And the dumb thing is that it will obviously never work. Trump is treating the country like it was a business or a property he wants to acquire because he's too dumb to understand the difference. It doesn't work the same way at all. Look at Ukraine. What Canada is going through is nothing compared to what the Ukrainians have endured for years now and they're still not giving up. Canada will be the same. Canadians are increasingly hostile to the idea of making any concessions to the US now and they will go through any hardship that is necessary to avoid their country to be taken over because they know they're still better off that way. All of that pain and loss of productivity will amount to nothing good.

This is an unprovoked attack. When this pedophile finally leaves the White House one way or another and someone who isn't absolutely batshit insane takes over, I hope Canada will demand reparations for the damage that the most corrupt and incompetent person the US government has ever allowed to preside over the country has caused.

[-] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 8 points 11 hours ago

I am begging the entire world to turn its back on America. America is not an adult, it is a child that was raised on action movies. That child is a fucking brat and will betray you the second an opening to do so is available, even if there's no reason to.

America needs to be told no, and have its toys taken away until it behaves.

I say this as an American.

[-] radish6367@lemmy.ca 77 points 19 hours ago

"Canada has taken advantage of us for so many years. The worst of any country," Trump said.

Someone should tell this moron that repeating something excessively does not make it true.

Someone should tell this moron that repeating something excessively does not make it true.

He is just following in the footsteps of those who came before him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_lie

[-] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 63 points 18 hours ago

Joseph Goebbels: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

I saw a meme on facebook of Trump giving an anti-trans speech, and I knew it was bullshit. Not because Trump isn't anti-trans (he is, don't know happened to him to make him that way, he was one of the people against bathroom bans initially... Oh right mental decline and his base loving it when he shit talks transpeople happened.), but because it was coherent and well-written... for bigotry.

[-] scrodumb@lemmy.ca 28 points 19 hours ago

The only education the guy ever had was reading Mein Kampf.

This tracks.

[-] CapuccinoCoretto@lemmy.world 19 points 19 hours ago

Bold to think he can read.

[-] Rhaedas@fedia.io 12 points 19 hours ago

I think he can read. Given how he talks though, it's at a very low grade level. One could say he's doing it to keep it where his base can understand the words, but that's giving him a lot of credit for being a closet mastermind (aka Phil Hartman's Reagan skit on SNL). I doubt it.

[-] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 hours ago

One of his ex wives said in interviews that Trump kept a book of Hitler's speeches on his bedside table.

That's his idea of some light reading before bedtime..

[-] Aviadi@reddthat.com 10 points 16 hours ago

I think you underestimate the idiocy of the American public....

It's funny how, as the circle of those who hold power in the US gets smaller, it is able to exert more of it in a new and horrible way. The narcissists in the white house being backed up by leading technological industries because that allows them to hold their oligopolies unchecked, it's never been this bad nor this short sighted.

[-] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 25 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Gets cucked by China, Israel, can't pull out of Iran, bases destroyed, punches the nearest neighbour. Valuable lesson.

[-] golinux@fedia.io 17 points 16 hours ago

The only “lesson” we are taught so far is to actively boycott anything US-made or US-adjacent. Hopefully we will never again sign up for any sort of “trade deal” of the size of NAFTA/CUSMA either, choosing to partner with friendlier and more trustworthy nations. So - thanks, Donald - you strengthened our national unity and helped us become even more resilient and independent than we’ve ever been.

[-] radish6367@lemmy.ca 39 points 19 hours ago

"I love the Canadian people, but the leaders have taken advantage of our stupid leadership for many, many years. They felt emboldened. … They act like they're totally innocent. They're not. They were very bad. But now they're being taught a little lesson."

That’s rich coming from a frequent visitor of Epstein Island (though I suppose no lessons have been learned in his case).

[-] scrodumb@lemmy.ca 22 points 19 hours ago

Every accusation is an admission.

He's saying they aren't smart enough to sit at our table.

He's right.

[-] Zeppo@sh.itjust.works 34 points 19 hours ago

I think this is roughly what he’d tell 13 year old girls after abusing them

[-] BC_viper@lemmy.world 25 points 19 hours ago

[-] bowreality@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

Oh! I am using voyager on iOS. It’s just a pic for me. No play button.

@radish6367

Boy, if Prime Minister Carney had stolen between 400 million to 1 billion dollars from the US Defense Budget to refurbish a jet meant to be his private plane after he left office - I would be outraged as an American. However, that is what Mr. Trump has done with a 747 jet he solicited or extorted from Qatar. PM Carney is right not to let a mobster shake Canada down. Keep giving the orange rapist squatting in our Whitehouse the elbow!

#ElbowsUp

[-] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 12 points 17 hours ago

Can’t this child raping fuck just stroke out already. I can’t wait to never have to hear the name Trump again in my life. Fucking twatwaffle.

[-] mercano@lemmy.world 12 points 18 hours ago

The next president is going to need a decade to repair foreign relations. When they can’t do it in four years, voters are going swing against them.

[-] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 hours ago

oh it's going to take a lot longer than that. it's been a decade of shit already.

[-] nyan@lemmy.cafe 5 points 6 hours ago

A decade is a highly optimistic projection. I would say at least twice that long.

[-] fonix232@fedia.io 24 points 17 hours ago

More like 30 years.

You'll need a new generation or two for people to forget what a dumbfuck you elected not once but twice.
