Hey Iran, Elon Musk is now a legitimate military target.

[-] schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works 14 points 4 days ago

According to the West, there are no legitimate targets on our side. Any and all attacks on Western military targets are considered terrorism.

It is is beyond ridiculous. People allegedly attacking a US Airbase in the UK (maybe just stealing diesel) are called terrorists for attacking a military target. It is absolutely bonkers.

Yeah I don’t think that bullshit is flying as well as it used to though. It’s too obvious who is instigating, and more people have been paying closer attention and learning about the history of the Middle East and the foreign policy of western governments. I’m encountering it more and more from people whom I would not expect it, and I get around.

Overheard a conversation between an old, rural Swedish farmer and his son that used to be a NATO soldier. They were discussing the Iran war. Old man says Iran has the right to defend itself just as any attacked nation does, and besides, they're defending against an empire that is one tweet away from attacking us. NATO boy tried to say something about nuclear weapons, but old man wouldn't have any of it and shut it down immediately.

I was quite astonished to bear witness to this, honestly.

Yeah, because the last time Muskrat was on a govt committee, it went so well...

[-] dan1101@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago

Still.haven't finished with the fallout from that disaster.

You know what? Good. I'm glad that Elon is now a valid military target.

[-] smeenz 28 points 5 days ago

Well, is not like he's got anything else to do. Being the ceo of 5 (?) companies obviously doesn't take much of his time.

[-] bus_factor@lemmy.world 25 points 5 days ago

From what I've heard, they probably do better the less time he focuses on them.

[-] graycube@lemmy.world 76 points 5 days ago

Really expensive self driving tanks that can also be submarines but parts fall off when they hit a bump.

[-] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 29 points 5 days ago

and it's only self driving if you put a crew inside

[-] Obituarykidney@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago

And they sink if you actually test the submersible feature.

I'm convinced that his truck thing was supposed to be the next Humvee. That man loves the government teat.

[-] MJKee9@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

You know they are at historic lows of incompetence when they just keep recycling the same ghouls into different positions. I'm honestly shocked we still haven't nuked the planet into ash by now.

[-] weps@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

give him his chainsaw and send him to the middle east

[-] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 13 points 4 days ago

I suppose that’s one way to prevent US drones from being fully self-driving.

They need to purge the military before they overturn the midterms just to address the possibility of US forces suddenly deciding not to follow illegal orders enough to detain Trump when given them. The US isn't a shitshow anymore, it's in a free fall that will drag a lot of the world with it.

[-] badgermurphy@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Packing the group with loyalists may quiet dissent, but as we've seen, loyalty does not relate to competency. So they're more free to do whatever they want, but at least they're real bad at doing it.

[-] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 13 points 5 days ago

Oh no please don't put the most trained and capable logistics/communication/warfare experts out of a job all at once.

Shits gonna backfire.

I like how Musk magically joins the government every time there is an election that Trump needs to cheat on. Then leaves like 4-6 months after the election is over. Probably just trying to make sure he doesn't get arrested by Democrats for all the illegal shit he is doing

[-] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 8 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

SpaceXai's biggest client! Future of warfare needs golden dome $1T+ contract to spaceX, obviously. Another $2T for Grok built skynet is recommended.

[-] opus86@lemmy.today 12 points 5 days ago

Oh cool. Let's watch Elon completely fail on a large scale again like he did with his DOGE bs.

[-] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

They just found another way to transfer public money to Musk

[-] isles@infosec.pub 6 points 4 days ago

He only failed if the publicly stated purpose was the goal 🤷‍♂️

[-] brax@sh.itjust.works 13 points 5 days ago

Is he about to DOGE the military?

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 7 points 4 days ago

He walks into the Pentagon on day 1 carrying a sink and then spends the first month figuring out how to get the tanks to make fart noises when they fire missiles

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 22 points 5 days ago

but he said no weirdos....

[-] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 5 days ago

Musk: So.... Ketamine, amirite?

[-] Wildmimic@anarchist.nexus 12 points 5 days ago

Here we go with the implementation of fully automated, AI fueled warfare as a blueprint to be used for internal affairs. I wish i weren't able to say it, but I told y'all this would happen.

[-] Arola@sh.itjust.works 8 points 5 days ago

It's more simple than that - like doge, this will be an extraction of public money, and maybe the transfer of more data from government / publicly funded storage to Musk's CSAM generating facility.

I got as far as the first paragraph before noping out of that article - right about here...

Musk will be joined by Palmer Luckey...

[-] Cocodapuf@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago

Let me guess, the warfare of the future demands lots of Tesla power walls and a heavy reliance on starlink...

So what's he gonna do like... schedule the next war?

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 days ago

They will mount him into the head of a rocket, fire him into Iran, and he will them potently bankrupt the country with stupid ideas like vacuum train tunnels.
