Woah, the alt text correctly uses the sic indicator! Well done, OP :P
haha, thank you. I try!
What alt text? It's just a link to a picture for me?
hmmm, I'm on desktop, the picture is embedded and if I hover over it, it gives me the alt text description :3c

its okay, its good to have. but..
for me, Käsespätzle are better

can vouch for regular spätzle as being great and i am now very intrigued by its cheesy cousin
yesssss spätzle in general are awesome no question.
in general, u can get käsespätzle at restaurants like in umm... austria and germany iguess. thats where I've had them. and they are SO good like WOW omygosh
- spätzle are awesome
- the chee makes the texture more varied
- fried onions add funky crisp
- it actually fills u up and woah tasty
Really easy to make as well. PSA if you're substituting the cheese for vegan cheese, the taste becomes monotonous and a bit fake. You can counteract this by putting mushrooms in for example. Also if you're crazy you can put this crispy chili oil in for chili cheese vibes. I really like that
Which are the regular spetzle? I only knew about the green ones from Alto Adige / South Tyrol, with speck cream and butter
i'm only familiar with the butter version, never seen the green one before until now.
that looks amazing can i have a recipe?
Spätzle in a bowl, add lots of cheese (different types, including red mould) and fried onions. Bake for 15min, stir and Bake again
These are the real "Allgäuer Kasspatzen"
What is Spätzle?

it's a type of egg pasta with a lot of regional variation. i tried making the milquetoast butter version once using a Spätzlehobel (to make the noodles) and it was terrible :) :) i wonder if i still have that thing somewhere
thx
Autoban systems are so bad at detecting, this is worth a lifetime ban
„What does this have to do with the Autobahn?“ was my first thought when reading this, after the first comment thread revolved around Spätzle.
Completely valid ban
Too light a sentence.
Kraft dinner style elbow noodles and cheese flavored powder isn't mac and cheese, it's a simulacrum of mac and cheese and I'll die on that hill.
Even takeaway mac and cheese will put the box stuff to shame. The fact that it can't be called "Kraft macaroni and cheese" because the "cheese" is a powder is a damning statement by itself.
Depends where you live I guess. Several times I've gotten Mac from a restaurant and it's bland as hell. Just tastes like noodles. Kraft may be fake cheese bullshit but at least it has flavor.
I agree with you but also think that most home made Mac is bad…especially from the South
Absolutely, it's easy to fuck up the cheese and Aunty at the potluck isn't gonna hear when you tell her it's not supposed to have that texture.
this is the truth. it's awful and even worse re-heated. heavy cream and melted velveeta 'cheese' is the best simulacrum sauce.
I wouldn’t only ban you, I’d hunt you down, I’d find you, and then I’d shove a whole bowl of mac and cheese down your throat
like all tenderly tho, right?
That’d be decided in the spur of the moment. Lmao
Like with candles and a nice glass of wine?
Can you hogtie me first
All pasta dishes are just different forms of mac and cheese

is this the transphobe?
You say that like there aren’t more of them.
😭
idk, I'm eepy. Nya bwainrot
You have been permanently banned from Canada too!
valid ban
Macaroni and cheese just isn't that good
i'm telling mom😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠
Reported to the ICC
It's really overrated

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
