I was trying to explain to my wife the strange knowledge you get from playing games over the years, and also how learning the mechanics of a lot of games makes new games that repeat them not as fun
I was watching my girlfriend play a Zelda for the first time and she couldn't understand how I knew how to approach basically every puzzle. It's 30 years of video game tropes.
