Shampoo rule (lemmy.nz)

Lol this is so true 😂
Men's shampoo (or any other shower product) sucks ass. It's why I started using women's everything, back at 16, waay before even starting HRT.
Still cis tho :3

it's true :3 i still prefer to use the men's shampoo (without perfume) because they make my hair straw-y, and i like that. :)

[-] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 hours ago

I'm not judging but...you actually like the straw-y hair? Really? 👀

[-] myyass@lemmy.world 12 points 14 hours ago

A real mans ~~shampoo~~ cleaning solution!

I'm kidding don't try this at home; your eyes will burn like crazy, inhale it and it will feel like your lungs are on fire making cigarettes feel like a child's game, get it your nose and you won't smell anything for a day, enough exposure on your hands and they will shake--permanently. Cleans real good though. Non of that 99.99% kills bacteria bullshit, it's a tactical nuke.

[-] Madagaskar_sky@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

Alright alright! I'll buy it. Jesus, just, enough with the shaft stroking! I was sold just with that packaging. BTW, what smell does it have?

[-] myyass@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

If it's just sitting there, it's kind of sweet and soapy. If it's coming out of a spray bottle it smells like you were cutting Carolina Reaper peppers and then decided to stick your finger in your nose -_-

I don't kink shame if you're into that.

[-] Madagaskar_sky@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

You, my friend, have a sale!

[-] myyass@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

Glad you're getting into the cleaning business. Muriatic Acid afterwards helps clean those pesky calcium "stains"

[-] Madagaskar_sky@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Well, my friends have been complaining about my manly smell, so this looks like a good opportunity!

[-] myyass@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

Good time to invite them to a purple onsen.

[-] fullsquare@awful.systems 1 points 10 hours ago

Bet some bacteria would feed on it anyway if you give it enough time

[-] myyass@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

I would be very scared of whatever would survive this. Let's just say you can use this to dissolve things when you boil it. Like I said it's very good at cleaning, I didn't specify cleaning of what.

[-] comfy@lemmy.ml 5 points 13 hours ago

Realizing that almost all my bathroom products are ungendered. It's a good feeling.

[-] morto@piefed.social 17 points 22 hours ago

And if you read the ingredients, they're the very same things, just with different synthetic color and aroma. Oh, and different prices, of course.

[-] GianBarGian@feddit.it 7 points 22 hours ago

Yah honestly this post just confirm that marketing does work indeed.

[-] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 49 points 1 day ago

I had a good laugh when I saw “Dude Wipes” is a product. That product touches my ass so I need some firm affirmation that wiping my butt won’t make me gay, I guess?

[-] BreadOven@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Had a kid, toddler now. I don't think we'll stop buying baby wipes ever. They're just so useful and probably 10x cheaper than stupidly-marketed ones. Although I am finally going to install a bidet soon.

[-] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 1 day ago

It's sad, but some people (men) actually think that wiping their own ass will make them gay. And so they just don't. They don't wipe their ass, don't wash it in the shower. "Just running water over it is enough, scrubbing would make me gay". I've never quite understood that. Toxic masculinity is just the worst...

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 5 points 16 hours ago

I wonder how many of them are actually gay and blame wiping their ass as a kid.

[-] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 8 hours ago

You know, I laugh at this, but then I remember...some fucking men istg 😭
I wouldn't even be surprised

[-] yogurtwrong@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago

Bidets are commonplace in my country plus I do wipe my butt and I am kinda gay soooo...

[-] kboos1@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago

I've never heard this and I've been a man my entire adult life. That doesn't sound like toxic masculinity, that sounds like that person has much more serious issues.

[-] Wildmimic@anarchist.nexus 13 points 1 day ago

I'm chronically online and yes, this is far more common than one might think, and especially in the "Manosphere".

I've read everything ranging from dudes arguing that touching your butt makes you gay to women complaining about dudes not wiping. Yuck.

[-] kboos1@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

Ewww. Should someone tell them that using the same logic means that they aren't washing other body parts, like their weiners. I would call it something more masculine but weiner sounds more appropriate in this case.

[-] EggInDisguise@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 day ago

I've heard it from a couple different people over the years, and the kind of people who say dumb shit like this are pretty clearly dealing with multiple mental health issues. Usually the kind of person you can tell within 5 minutes they support Andrew Tate and watch/listen to Joe rogan

That brand also makes "Little Dude Wipes," so big beefy manly men can teach their boys how to be big strong manly beefy hunky men, too, when wiping their shitty ass. They're also double the price of standard store brand baby wipes for less wipes per package.

[-] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

I call them insecurity wipes.

Fuck ya, I want to smell like a nuclear reactor.

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago

Control Rod Freeze or Infinite Uranium Fuel Rod Blast?

[-] Sabata11792@ani.social 3 points 14 hours ago

Uranium Fuel Rod Blast for sure.

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

Good choice. You can tell it's potent because you can taste it as soon as you open the bottle.

[-] Hundun@beehaw.org 6 points 22 hours ago

Nah, I'd rate the scent 3.5/10 - not good, not terrible

[-] Sabata11792@ani.social 4 points 22 hours ago

Its got to be at least a 3.6.

[-] Solrac@quokk.au 19 points 1 day ago

Sandlewood... Why do they think we want to smell like driftwood. Are we trying to attract carpenter ants?

[-] ChristerMLB@piefed.social 25 points 1 day ago

I saw a photo of a shampoo bottle from the US once. Apparently the shampoo was tactical. I have been trying to figure out what that means.

[-] Edge004@lemmy.zip 23 points 1 day ago

Usually, that means it's marketed towards insecure men. The lifted truck type of people

Reminded me of that Mitchell and Webb ad. Not exactly the same thing, but kinda. https://youtu.be/85HT4Om6JT4

[-] python@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

huh, different strokes for different folks i guess. Women's hygiene stuff is fine, but I don't really like how weak it is. My current lime/hibiscus flower or whatever flavored shower gel might smell nice, but it wears off within like an hour and I smell sweaty and gross again. But whenever I steal my husband's generic ⚡blue⚡ shower gel it lasts an entire day (even if I feel like a middle school boy's locker room). Same with deodorant. My husband got me my own Old Spice stick because I kept stealing his.

[-] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 8 hours ago

Women’s hygiene stuff is fine, but I don’t really like how weak it is

Really? Weak? I mean, I take HRT, so I'm a bit privileged to not smell much at all, lol. I have basically zero testosterone. All it takes it a bit of any kind of soap in the armpits for me and I just don't smell that day, like...at all, really.

I guess "men's" products are kinda stronger. I wouldn't really know, but I've heard it before. It's funny tho, I just wash my armpits with soap and I don't smell for at least a day, at all, while my bf uses Old Spice 3in1 (because ofc he does...) and he smells great...but after just an hour, I can smell him again, lol. I have a good nose thanks to estrogen tho.
I totally get you on the boy's locker room omfg 😭

Also, just...weird thought, but men's deodorant smells...good on men? Old Spice smells fucking amazing on my bf, but I could never imagine smelling like that. I'm weird tho :/

"Military Grade" - all hair falls out. Yep it works.

[-] shweddy@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

This is objectively bad shampoo. I can't even wash my car with it

Oh man I love this so much BC its true.

Feminine products are amazing, smell GREAT, and thw packaging is visually more pleasing to look at.

Men's stuff is just... Bland. Smells like chemicals or generic "nature" scents. And ths packing is just monochromatic n bORING.

The only thing that bothers me about fem products is the girl tax/pink tax. Shaving products come to mind.

But otherwise fem products are great~~
