I want to buy a new laptop, I thought about Asus expertbook ultra with Intel ultra 7x or 9x

How good is Linux support on it? How will the battery life be ?

From everything I've seen, hit or miss, as all absolute bleeding edge hardware (especially laptops) are on Linux. Should be usable, just not ideal yet but getting better every day.

Also make sure the laptops wireless card works well. I've had nothing but problems with Intels wifi 6e cards on linux. They're fine on wifi networks that don't have 6ghz. But if 6ghz is available it has no clue how to handle it and the constant switching between frequencies makes wifi almost unusable. My only fix has been to disable 6ghz entirely or use a dedicated 6ghz network. But that sucks. I haven't tested 7.2 or 7.3, but these cards are 6 years old and it's still a problem. I have an intel wifi 7 card but I haven't tested it with Linux yet. I also don't even have a laptop it fits inside of.

But they didn't test that exact laptop.

On Ubuntu 26.04 with the Linux 6.19 kernel, the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H performance was in very good shape for both performance and power efficiency.

Probably even better on kernel 7.3

I see a mention of that laptop here https://www.phoronix.com/news/Omarchy-3.7-Released

Kernel 7.2 had a fix for it https://www.phoronix.com/news/Linux-7.2-rc6-Sound-Fixes

What distro will you be using? I bet anything with kernel 7.2 or newer will work well.
