it's very easy to make! just boil some pasta, make all other ingredients hot and then combine them! i love beige slop. "all other ingredients" are: garlic, vegan gyros from lidl and feta cheese (any simulacrum with "greek type cheese" in the name will work too)

then why don't you marry it?

Marriage isn't meaningless. I'm going to get slightly more money on my social security checks when I become a senior if it doesn't run out or get taken away before I'm eligible. Otherwise it would have been meaningless.

beige slop doesn't count ok

There's eggs in pasta, right?

[-] FergleFFergleson@infosec.pub 7 points 3 days ago

Most do, but you can get egg-free pastas.

[-] x00z@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Most industrial made ones don't actually. Fresh pasta is more common to have eggs, and there's also specific pastas that will almost always have eggs such as tagliatelle.

[-] pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 3 days ago

That's against the egg day spirit

[-] j_g00da@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 3 days ago

yeah! do my beige slop pass the egg check?

[-] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 4 points 3 days ago

Most dried pasta does not.

[-] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 4 points 3 days ago

It just needs something red, like sweet peppers.

[-] j_g00da@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 3 days ago

i sneezed on it, does this count

[-] cows_are_underrated@feddit.org 1 points 1 day ago

If you sneeze red residue you should probably go and visit a doctor.

Because that sounds like some blood vessels in your nose are not very good at keeping their cintent where it's supposed to be.

Very nice! Here's a pro tip from a fellow slopper: why boil your pasta in a separate pot? First, fry your proteins (I suppose vegan gyros in this case) with garlic, remove it from the skillet, add broth and pasta (2 cups of broth per 200g of pasta). Cook under a lid until most of the liquid is absorbed, but remember to stir frequently. Add gyros, let it warm a bit and then crumble some feta on top. It's okay to eat straight from the skillet but it's usually too much for one person.

Feel free to experiment with different ingredients! I made pasta with walnuts, broccoli and tomatoes today.

thanks for slopping!

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 3 days ago

You're throwing a whole gyro into your pasta? 🤔

Whats the difference between beige slop and carbonara?

[-] wieson@feddit.org 6 points 3 days ago

What's the difference between those and Chashörnli or Käsespätzle?
The type of noodle, the type of cheese, the type of added ingredients and the preparation method.
But in g e n e r a l terms, they're similar.

No idea i am not a pasta expert.

i just recognize the pattern of the pasta recipe i know, and supposedly that one is called carbonara.

If i run out of the usual pasta/meat/cheese i just use another kind. The preperation method stays the same, no need to overthink it.
