Same goes for all those trans puppygirls out there, that secretly keep out digital infrastructure alive.

woof

[-] angrystego@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I feel like this is completely logical and two sides of the same coin.

[-] iocase@lemmy.zip 16 points 2 days ago

I've always said a plane crash heading to a furry convention would be in the "Contributing factors" section about the fall of civilization

[-] Dojan@pawb.social 6 points 2 days ago

According to American Politician, that aeroplane would've been flown by a furry pilot.

[-] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago

Luckily, only furries can fly a plane. So no one else who isn't furry can do it.

[-] skisnow@lemmy.ca 30 points 2 days ago

needs a Lemmy watermark as well for when I repost this reddit post of a tweet on Discord

[-] tacosanonymous@lemmy.blahaj.zone 108 points 2 days ago

We all need our escapes.

Conveniently, some of our escapes are femboy nerds.

[-] Gyrcas@piefed.zip 35 points 2 days ago

Could you tell me where you found those escapes? :3

[-] DaveyRocket@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago

No, they know they aren’t suppose to be escaping, please return them to their sex dun… house.

[-] Gyrcas@piefed.zip 23 points 2 days ago

I don't think I want to return them if they are escaping, I think I should help liberate their fellow femboys instead >:3

ONLY CONSENSUAL SEXUAL SLAVERY WILL BE TOLERATED

[-] DaveyRocket@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

Well I wasn’t the one that forgot their safeword.

[-] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

The escape is part of the scene, clearly.

[-] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 62 points 2 days ago

Everyone who knows I have an engineering degree is always surprised when I'm a fucking idiot

[-] CrimeIsLegalNow@ani.social 36 points 2 days ago

As someone that knows engineers I'm never surprised by that.

[-] BreadOven@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Get rid of the furry and engineer parts, and that's me.

[-] deadalus@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 1 day ago

You're a chemical with a doctorate?

[-] BreadOven@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Nah. Chemistry PhD. Although I think I'd identify more with a sea otter than a dog.

[-] trslim@pawb.social 16 points 2 days ago

not this furry (comp sci drop out ;-;)

[-] MrChewy@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago

Lack of an official paper =/= lack of qualification <3

[-] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Sure, but sucking at math is a good indication of lack of qualifications.

(Fellow comp-sci dropout who sucks at high level math)

[-] marzhall@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Been programming for 15 years now on a journalism degree and English minor because I was "washed out" by calc 2 and physics courses despite being excellent in my programming courses, and decided to get an internship programming anyway - luckily they really needed a Linux guy.

Turns out being a good calculator - which is all courses that don't have you doing proofs is doing - isn't a prerequisite for being a good programmer of a calculator.

[-] mirshafie@europe.pub 2 points 1 day ago

This is why a lot of scientific software sucks. And it's why a lot of good scientists used specialized kits like MATLAB for the longest time - they needed to program but were bad at programming.

[-] mirshafie@europe.pub 1 points 1 day ago

I don't think that's right. Some of the most high-level people I know are pretty mid or even bad at certain tasks that you'd assume were essential. A surprising number have dyslexia, some have dyscalculia as well, and a few can intuit interesting math but are unable to produce it mechanically themselves and require help.

I think that that's normal really: today, science is so complex that no single person is going to come up with a major breakthrough in any field completely on their own. We work in teams for a reason, and we need people with different talents on those teams.

[-] Taalnazi@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Me, who sucks at maths but not others:

There's more than just STEM

[-] homosapien@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago

M is just one letter

[-] wrinkledoo@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

I didn't suck at math when I calculated those student loan costs. lmao(Also comp sci dropout)

[-] Dojan@pawb.social 1 points 2 days ago

Just because you didn't do comp-sci doesn't mean you can't develop software. I didn't go to uni and I've been working as a professional software dev for 8 years.

[-] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I do devops, so I've gotten to scratch that itch after all

I'm an engineer and when I play d&d I'm always the tank with intelligence as my dump stat.

Negation of societal expectations is the basis of 90% of kink

[-] ramble81@lemmy.zip 38 points 3 days ago

No different than the CEO who is a sub. Sometimes you just need something different from your day-to-day.

[-] call_me_xale@lemmy.zip 80 points 3 days ago

Bold of you to compare CEOs with people who work for a living.

[-] everett@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 days ago
[-] call_me_xale@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

no different than

That's literally a comparison

[-] meat@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 3 days ago

I think a lot of people would indulge the sub fantasy, it's just the privileged class that can afford the regular prodome sessions.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

If you learn to get good at subbing you can attract the people who do it for fun. That's how I wound up married to a domme. Well that and being a hot chick

Bark :3 🐶 (We have education/experience in multimedia design and are currently pursuing a computer science and a physics degrees)

[-] yetAnotherUser@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 days ago

([...] currently pursuing a computer science and a physics degrees)

Both at the same time??

[-] GarboDog@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Yes! We’re currently doing a refresher course in math and finishing up Spanish the best we can. We’ve personally studied computer science and can say we’re pretty good at math. Honestly the hard part is doing it all in Spanish while not being able to speak it fluently (currently A2cert-C1ish) haha

The translator app has been and will forever be the most used app on our phone ^^;;;

all the brain folds are dedicated to science, there's nothing left over for anything else

[-] VerilyFemme@lemmy.blahaj.zone 22 points 2 days ago

A wise man knows that he knows nothing ☝️🤓

[-] BreadOven@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

All I know is that I don’t know nothing.

Party on, dude!

both can be true. if the processing power is high enough, you can allow your brain to idle most of the time and still get stuff done.

Stimming has all forms of outlets.💅

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
