Where is the investigation into Elon Musk for immigration fraud?

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

More fascism.

If you want fascism to stop, the solution is simple. Vote in the manner most likely to prevent them from having power.

If you don't use this method soon, you will not have to worry about voting ever again.

[-] Taldan@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

Oh, so America is okay with deep investigations into prominent immigrants, to ensure there were no mistakes made?

Cool. Hope Elon Musk is okay with being raided and investigated. If he lied on his immigration paperwork, his citizenship should be stripped and him deported

[-] 4am@lemmy.zip 24 points 1 day ago

I’m afraid this is much worse than that. This was a criminal warrant and HSI raid on a sitting congresswoman’s DC home less than three weeks before her bid for re-election.

In the past, the DOJ has observed a “no action within 90 days of the election” rule so as not to appear partisan

It’s actually how everyone knows this is total bullshit and made up. No only is she clearly a Trump opponent and one of the leftmost senators in Congress today, but they’re sending in Homeland Security (the bullshit autho “policing” agency created after everyone was scared of 9/11) with very little time left in the election cycle. This is some shit that Erdogan would pull!

This has never happened in United States history.

Typical and completely in-line with current admin's 2-bit mobster intimidation tactics. :(

Smells like bullshit harassment to me

Who knew white supremacy would be a world wide scourge in the 21st century? I really thought we were getting past all this shit coming of age in the 1990s...

[-] KC_Royalz@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago

Same. I truly thought Republicans were on deaths door. I wish there were more xennials we could have made a difference

[-] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 3 points 21 hours ago

Although out Obama's tenure everyone told me the GOP's railing against Obama was the death woes of a dying party.

How I wish that was true

[-] KC_Royalz@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

I always go back to McCains rally with Palin. And the old lady who said Obama was a terrorist and he basically had to say no hes not. He's a good person with just different ideas on how to govern.

I thought two things at that moment. The crowd firmly belied the terrorist line but at the same time it exposed how crazy the crowd was when they booed.

And I thought most of America saw that crazy along with Palins and said they have no place of ever being in charge. Obama won in a landslide. And I truly believed the Republican party was finished.

And had sanders got the nomination I think the Republican party was officially dead. But the Dems fucked up and put in Hillary. Something that immediately lost the progressive vote. Then Trump did the whole grab them by the pussy bit and thought even with that Hillary should win. Nope .

Now they have someone that actively recruits the racists, Nazis and have them well established.

Dems seriously fumbled with Hillary

[-] ulkesh@piefed.social 11 points 1 day ago

As a fellow Xennial, I resonate with this so much.

[-] KC_Royalz@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I don't know about you but I always have felt isolated in everything, I know that's a gen x thing to say, but when you look at movies music for people our age, 48 leading the way There's not a lot of 47-52 year olds out there representing us.

Like when we can get together and unite i think we're successful but there are so few of us 77-82 it just doesn't happen anymore and we have been divided now.

Like we grew up with the reality of the aids epidemic but our schools were still successful and I think we were the last ones to have good public schools before Regan and his policies destroyed what was still working.

Like believe it or not despite her being being a complete racist piece of shit. A lot of my morals came from the Roseanne show. My parents were never home. My dad tried to push church on me but I always saw the church crowd as hypocrits and have never went back

[-] Rhaedas@fedia.io 11 points 1 day ago

We Gen-X saw both a broken world but had hope of change (a lot of it was misleading, but we didn't know then). You had that same hope, but saw problems on the horizon. Millennials were the first to see the hope was more propaganda and gaslighting than anything, and Gen Z... yeah, I feel bad for you guys, what a mess you grew into.

I.e., it was always messed up, they just were able to lie better back then. Now they're not even trying, they just shrug and laugh.

[-] kreskin@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

another gen-xer here. What haunts me a tad is that we are such a quiet generational cohort that we risk not even existing in future historical anlyses of the decline of the US. We may just get lumped in with the boomers. I do feel like we were much different than them, but we never got anything done, or led anything. There was always this feeling that we'd get our chance when the boomers faded out of the picture and they just never did. I suppose we had to fight for it and we didnt (enough), or something.

If you Google prominent gen-X politicians a list of republicans come up starting with vance. No dems on the list. Then ask again for prominent genX politicians on the left and you get cory booker, Gavin Newsom, and Beto Orourke. Its like my whole generation never existed.

[-] KC_Royalz@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I don't think we were ever designed to lead. We basically learned to survive on our own and grew to like being alone with no rules or schedule

I'd start reading some better history books. After purchasing a firearm of course. They never went away.

[-] chaogomu@lemmy.world 55 points 1 day ago

The 90s sucked ass for a lot of people, but the culture of the time, as presented through a bunch of media, children's shows, movies, and random TV, was pushing the message that we could do better. That we owed it to each other to do better.

And then Fox news started ramping up, then 9/11 hit and everyone lost their god damn minds.

[-] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 33 points 1 day ago

9/11 was the single most successful act of war/terrorism in human history, bin Laden succeeded in ways I’m sure he never imagined.

There’s no way this is a tyrant using government agencies to persecute his enemies. That could neeeeeevvvvver happen here. That’s why we’re Great Again™️.

[-] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 day ago

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin last month cited an “ongoing investigation” that he suggested was examining potential fraud in her family’s immigration paperwork. “Something’s going to happen,” he said in a potential foreshadowing of the search.

Just run of the mill racism.

[-] Sunflier@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

Wonder if/how they got an Article III warrant.

[-] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago

Now remember everyone don’t call them fascist or nazis. Because that will hurt their little pedo protector feelings.

They're all pedos

[-] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 39 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Weaponization of the government in full fascist fashion.

If the centrist Democrats don't investigate this overt and obvious abuse of power by the Trump administration if we vote them back in...

[-] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 hours ago

Ah yes, its still about 'the libs' when fascism is out in full fucking force.

Get a fucking wake-up call shitbrain.

[-] crayons_to_chaos@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

...we kill the fucking lot of them?

“Guten tag, Frauline. Are you harboring any enemies of the state?”

[-] comrade_twisty@feddit.org 29 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

*Guten Tag, Fräulein.

Tag (day) is a noun and nouns always get capitalized in German.

ä is an Umlaut and the dots are important, cause the word would be pronounced frouw-line and not froi-line otherwise.

Also its lein not line, but it's pronounced line.

Everything I know about the German language I learned from watching Hogan’s Heroes.

100% of reporters should ask “Did you find the Epstein files?” Over and over and over and over again

I know it "started" awhile ago. But "my Rubicon" was AoC, Omar, Summer Lee, ect, getting arrested.

Fraudulent immigration papers you say, hmmmm. Considering other notable examples of this, I say she's either going to be the next FLOTUS or a trillionaire (multibillionaire).

My spidy sense is tingling.

Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. This administration is a struggle between evil and stupidity and sometimes both win.
