Jerry Seinfeld doesn’t respect Palestine or the age of consent.

[-] insanemantis@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Fun fact: a lot of people who don't respect one don't respect the other

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 24 points 1 day ago

This guy is such a piece of shit.

[-] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 65 points 2 days ago

Hey!

In his defense I dated a. 17 year old high school girl once.

I was also 17.

😂

[-] CaptainPedantic@lemmy.world 34 points 2 days ago

I was so worried as a stupid kid that I was a pervert because I was attracted to girls my age. No, it just turns out I'm attracted to people my age.

[-] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago

Me too!

And I still wonder when did 50 year old women get so hot?

[-] tetris11@feddit.uk 12 points 2 days ago

When they look at you with practiced scorn, and you find that hot

[-] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

It's like you know me!

[-] Ariselas@piefed.ca 3 points 1 day ago

it's authority that comes with age, the leather, riding crop d̶o̶n̶'̶t̶ hurt either.

[-] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 6 points 2 days ago

When I was younger, I once convinced a friend of mine that he, a sixteen year old, could be arrested for sex with a minor if he slept with one of his classmates and the cops found out. I still crack up over his bugged out eyes.

[-] Wolf314159@startrek.website 4 points 1 day ago

This is something that has actually happened to multiple children though.

[-] cardboardboxfort@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

Don't you know you're suppose to wait till your 35 to date a 17 year old

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

In my mid 20s I was dating a woman who's kid was 17 (which is the age she had them). I genuinely can't imagine how a 35 year old wants to date someone that young.

[-] gastroglizzy@piefed.social 9 points 2 days ago

When you're a star, they let you do it

[-] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

I fucked that up. Thanks for the feedback!

[-] cardboardboxfort@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Give it the old Jerry Seinfeld second try, remember you're never too old to date a 17 year old!

[-] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago
[-] snausagesinablanket@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I did as well when I was 19 and she was 17. I also picked her up at school many times.

The principle even high fived me!. (I made up that last part)

I've dated 15yr olds, 16yr olds, 17yr olds, I was also the same age or 1yr older. I did date a 20yr old when I was 26, honestly that did feel a little strange.

What's the deal with Age of Consent Laws!?

Also, what was with that episode where a child perused Elaine? https://seinfeld.fandom.com/wiki/Adam_Lippman

[-] cardboardboxfort@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

And its all about the kids bar mitzvah, which in reality does sometimes involve hiring a woman to bang the 13 year old kid to make him a man. What's more disturbing is in some cases people allegedly use girls (below the age of consent) to do this.

[-] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That episode was weird because it didn't exactly portray that stuff as sane, despite having Jewish writers, including Seinfeld right around that time. I don't know much about Larry David's politics and beliefs, but it could have been him taking a swipe at Jerry and other weird Jews. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen a Jewish writer criticize their own community.

[-] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

He was a man. The Rabbi said so.

[-] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago

How was this idiot ever popular? The show sucked, his "comedy" sucked, and he as a person sucks. His stand up was so bad that his style is now the stereotypical bad comic in tv and movie tropes.

[-] robear@lemmy.zip 45 points 2 days ago

Seinfeld was legitimately the worst thing about Seinfeld.

It was popular because it had Larry David writing, and Michael Richards, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander were actually good comedic actors.

[-] matelt@feddit.uk 14 points 1 day ago

Do not forget the legendary Wayne Knight!

[-] cardboardboxfort@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Good time slot. Decent writing. Good on screen talent (for the most part) surrounding Seinfeld which often helped to fill out the stories. Think of all the guest appearances over the years, lots of quality actors who all grew into their characters.

[-] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 days ago

It was an okay show at the time. Same with his comedy. Neither were the best, but both industries have come a long way in the last 30 years.

Full agree that he sucks as a person, though.

[-] blargh513@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 days ago

That always puzzled me. His whole character was of an ordinary guy, but he's such a massive toolshed.

He openly hates anyone who would be described as a fan, he has so much money and he's just a massive douchenozzle. How much more do you have to have to be happy and or a little bit kind?

Marty Short isn't a prick, just remember that.

[-] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 days ago

Money and fame do weird shit to your brain. A handful of people have managed to have money and not be a miserable jackass, but it seems to be the minority.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 9 points 2 days ago

its only because david, jason alexender and julia made the show "Watchable" i never got feeling he was funny. jason played a convincing alien in voyager, and a criminal minds role too.

Cue incidental music

Bop bop pow pow

Cut to commercial break

[-] sundray@lemmus.org 65 points 2 days ago

"I don't know how it happened, but Woody Allen invited me out to lunch!"

"Woody Allen? Soon-Yi's father?"

"We met in the school pick-up line!"

[-] okay_employee96@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Diabolical work

[-] Tiger@sh.itjust.works 22 points 2 days ago

Really disappointed but that jackass over the years, I shouldn’t have been surprised but loved that show in its contemporary years.

[-] NOPper@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 2 days ago

Honestly he was the least funny character in that show though.

[-] mortn@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 day ago

Yes, that was the character - to be the straight shooter amongst weirdos and the less eccentric character. The show is hilarious and really well done. If you don't like then just don't watch. With that said, I find the real life wrong doings of Seinfeld and Richards are unforgivable.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago

jason, and the others were way better actor. he just sets up the Joke for the episode thats about it.

What were their favorite things to talk about?

I am betting "How was your day?" was not one of them.

[-] UltraMagnus0001@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

NO! The zionist that likes trump, is awful to people and is a baby fucker? Gtfo

In his defense, they bonded over their shared love of algebra.
