We already have Old Mexico at home.

[-] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 7 points 21 hours ago

At least he’s renaming shit in his own country now. How do y’all like it? Fucking “Lake America” and “Gulf of America”. Surprised he’s “asking” instead of just decreeing like everything else. I’m sure we’re days away from his insistence. Then New York can become “Trump City”.

[-] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 1 points 20 hours ago
[-] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago

It’s also Gulf of Mexico, but here we are.

[-] MehBlah@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

New Mexico should encourage trump to release the Epstein files.

[-] normalentrance@lemmy.zip 7 points 23 hours ago

This is stupid. Obviously just a distraction. But, could you even imagine how much that would cost?

Every piece of letterhead, every sign, maps, state issued ID, etc. It would be an insane cost for the whim of some guy that shits his pants daily.

[-] discocactus@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

Also there's not a whole lot of states more attached to their identity than New Mexico.

[-] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Oh good I’m sure this will help the rising prices of everything, end the war in Ukraine, Iran and genocide in Palestine, and give everyone affordable housing and healthcare. Hey America are we tired yet of all this winning?

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 21 hours ago

Inflation hits 3.7%.

Donnie dumbass: "let's change the name of a state!"

[-] spacegoat@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

The world calls on him to attach the prefix “the late” to his name

[-] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 67 points 1 day ago

Can we please, as a society, stop pretending this guy is not dumb as a sack of pig shit?

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 22 hours ago

So what does that say about a country that enthusiastically voted for him, twice?

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 11 hours ago

Three times for most of them

[-] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 1 points 11 hours ago

He still has the support of roughly 1/3 of America, and then you have another 1/3 of the country who are too lazy/apathetic to vote at all. So, nothing good.

[-] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago

That we're all dumb sacks of shit. I thought that was apparent. I know I'm personally pretty stupid at times, and I'm not even below the average.

[-] REDACTED@infosec.pub 2 points 21 hours ago

To be fair, majority did not actually vote for him because turnover rate for democrat-voting people has always been low in comparison to republicans.

"My vote won't change anything" bit entire US in the ass.

[-] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 day ago

I've never not done that. I was under the impression that he's the dumbest motherfucker alive, but tens of millions of dumbass motherfuckers still are falling for his stupid bullshit after ten years of widespread exposure of what a dumb motherfucker he is, so I guess those dumb motherfuckers must be dumber than this dumb motherfucker.

[-] krashmo@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

Nothing in this world has convinced me to drastically lower my expectations of the intelligence of the average person more than the continued popularity of Donald Trump

[-] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

It is a loyalty test. Fascists do this to weed out people who are not loyal.

[-] dermanus@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago

Exactly! This was the guy who had his underlings wearing clown shoes and saying how great they fit.

Can you please, as a society, grab the fat fuck and drag him out of the white and toss him in the nearest woodchipper? ~signed: the rest of the world

I think it should be renamed, but to a Spanish name. I propose Matatrumpo.

[-] ACindyDerg@piefed.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 day ago

Wait until he learns that York is a town in the UK

[-] ElDuderino@lemmus.org 3 points 21 hours ago

City in the UK - You don't want the Yorkshiremen coming after you.

[-] reddig33@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago

Wasn’t this an Onion article just a few months ago?

[-] Canconda@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

Pickles and onions are the only vegetables he eats so that checks out.

New South America!

We would, but it's south america so nobody gives a shit.

[-] DahGangalang@infosec.pub 24 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yeah, getting rid of the foreign names completely and totally is definitely the play.

Other places that will need a name change (with suggested names:

  • New York - New North America
  • New Hampshire - New North North America
  • New Jersey - New North East America
  • Washington, District of Columbia (DC) - Washington, District of America (DOA)
  • New York City - New North America City, District of America
  • Virginia (named for Br*tain's Queen Elizabeth I) - Trumpia
  • North/South Carolina (Names for Br*tain's King Charles I) - North/South Trumpolina
  • Florida (Spanish for "Flowerery) - Ivanka (the "flower" of Trump's eye)
  • Mar-a-lago (Spanish for "sea to lake") - Melania (so people start calling it "Melania Face" when they refer to Mar-a-lago face)

And SO many more!!!
(I hope the /s is obvious)

EDIT: my buddy, who's an even harder troll than me dropped the suggestion we rename DC to:
"Washington, The Holy District of Our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ Redeemer of All Nations"
(No abbreviations, and it is a felony to reference the place without saying the whole thing every time)

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

This asshole is doing anything but trying to even attempt to look like he's helping the American people.

[-] Pratai@piefed.ca 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

There must be some new criminal bullshit he’s up to.. enjoy the distraction everyone!

[-] adarza@lemmy.ca 2 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago)

“Maybe even the Crooked Elections, that New Mexico is known for, would become honest again,” he added.

so dipshit and his co-conspirators will quit fucking with elections there if new mexico changes their name?

[-] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

Just like waving a rattle in front of a baby.

[-] finley@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 day ago
[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 8 hours ago

Because, in the immortal words of Lewis Black "the good die young, but pricks live forever"

[-] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 day ago

Because the only three named guy who's tried to rectify that had shitty fucking aim, and I assume security has ramped up since.

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 1 points 8 hours ago

Didn't that guy get kicked out of a gun club cause he had shitty aim?

[-] bedwyr@piefed.ca 6 points 1 day ago

I wouldn't take those allegations of assassination attempts at face value, something stinks, especially with the rooftop guy story. It was staged, that fight fight fight thing? Choreographed. His ear wasn't shot, especially not with an AR round. Probably scraped it on an agent as they pulled him to the ground.

The golf course one was suspect as well. Don't believe the justice department. I shouldn't have to tell you that.

[-] Stormy@thelemmy.club 3 points 1 day ago

False flags? From a cpac guy? Yeah that sounds right

[-] mercano@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Being president gets you top-tier health care, even as many of your constituents are struggling to get any healthcare at all. COVID would have gotten him if not for treatment he received, and who knows what he’s being treated for now.

[-] unitedwithme@lemmy.today 9 points 1 day ago

Free gov health care

[-] MisterD@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

Because he is only 3 minutes away from a doctor at all times.

[-] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 4 points 1 day ago

The only renaming that needs to happen is from White House to Shite House.

[-] ZeroGravitas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 day ago

Wait until he learns about Amerigo Vespucci.
