I’m having one of my “can’t get out of bed” days where nothing seems fun, but it’s kinda funny, I am getting a constant “yeah, but strangers on the internet thought you looked cute” so that’s nice at least!

it feels like Iike depression is a bit less bad… does anyone else deal with depression by dressing up?

brain is telling me being depressed but pretty is dumb, but i swear i feel a glimmer of something when people around me agree that i’m pretty or cute.

It is honestly fucked up how much of a difference it makes to perform femininity even if just at home. I don't know if I've experienced exactly what you have, but it does seem like something I can empathize with. For a long time, I didn't accept I was trans because I didn't think I "really needed," it, or that I had bigger issues to manage from anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Couple weeks on HRT made dealing with the bigger issues infinitely more tolerable, nearly trivial on some days. It makes a world of difference.

honestly even if it causes physical/sex problems, i’m really hoping E has that effect on me. I don’t want to say i hate my mind, but I wish i were… different.

in the interim, I can channel that aggression towards myself to break my depression cycles since taking care of myself seems to help

I don't know about sex problems honestly besides fertility, but it has been my experience that the benefits were not only substantial, but also unpredictable. I had that similar feeling about just not feeling right unless I changed in some way I could never identify, and yeah, this did most of that very quickly.

I can't say that translates to everyone's or your experience, but I do think that is more common than not.

Being depressed but pretty is dumb.

Not in the slightest. All of us handle things in our own way, and you flaunting your girlish charm is right as rain to do! Also, you are indeed cute. And that is a fact to slice through the silly shadow that wants to give you a day of bleh.

For me, just getting my comfy nightgown on in the mid-day is enough to make me feel better than I was when I was just simple bedrotting earlier. If you ever need an escape from reality for a spell though: https://redirect.invidious.io/watch?v=g4edUoRObOc

I have these sorts of "can't get out of bed" days all the time. It happens to me a lot on days I'm not working and don't have the pressure to get ready right away.

Sometimes it'll make me lie in bed for hours, so then I'll feel like never getting up because I look and feel so gross and un-cute :( But if I do manage to pull myself together and go through my shaving + skin care routine (maybe even a full shower), it always ends up making me feel a lot better.

But it sucks that doing all that is so time-consuming, especially the damn shaving, ugh. I can't wait to get to that point in HRT when the face and body hair growth slows down.
