Laurent Mekies denies that Red Bull is negotiating a new Formula 1 engine supply agreement, insisting the Ford-backed project must improve its own power unit before considering a third team.

Potentially unpopular thought here..

But I'm wondering if Mekies actually has enough pull and insight into what RB are doing in regards to future deals (especially with RB Power Units).

For example, if this was Horner still as team principal, and Horner slamming down these rumours, then I would 100% believe it as he most likely had a very big hand to play in the process.

I'm just wondering if Mekies has that same amount of insight and pull within the organisation?
