You don't have to put a lot of effort into the impeachment; there's plenty of fuel for it right now. We just want to maybe see a little bit of consequences. Just a bit. Ideally a lot, but so far we haven't seen any at all and it's making us very, very, VERY disillusioned, and tired, and angry.

I don’t see an impeachment accomplishing anything at this point. It’s a time sink for an attempt at a shame strategy, but the GOP oppeeates entirely outside of shame, it would be a wasted use of time and resources, even if they manage to pull it off. It would only serve to galvanize his supporters, just like the previous impeachments did, and none if it will ever culminate into enacting the 25th amendment.
Personally, I think he needs to drag this country theough his full term, at this point that shit filled corpse is doing more to damage the conservative landscape than leftists have ever accomplished in this country. They can’t survive on this trajectory, and that seems like our best bet.

What if the enemy is destroying you along the way? Because it's legitimately not guaranteed that America can survive two more years of this (if it can even survive the midterms, which I'm not sold on). Trump is legitimately going to get millions of people killed in America and abroad by the time his term is over at this rate.

I mean I see her point. Unless you have 61 seats in the Senate you're not going to get a conviction so why waste the political capital? Hell I don't even know if 61 would be enough. That's a legitimate argument.
The question though is if you can't do that what else can you do? If you don't have the capital to go after Trump for all of his obvious crimes of which there are many what makes you think you can get anything from investigations? Isn't punting immediately just the Declaration of weakness? I agree don't lead with impeachment. But I wouldn't take it off the table right away. And who knows if dominoes start falling maybe you won't need all 61. Maybe if you're investigations go well enough you'll gain momentum enough to actually do the impeachment.
