Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Well, after deciding to cancel my plans to update to Lemmy 0.19.1 on hearing of some major federation issues with some other sites, today I see 0.19.2 has been released.

I think we will keep waiting a little longer and see how that one goes, but I am very keen to update.

Yay! Let's see how it goes. I hope there are no other federation issues or high cpu utilization

Had a great evening at the lake last night; Taupo was calm and warm, the lake temperature was really nice. The kids has a great time as did the adults.

Have most of the holiday makers started to head home? We were there last week and it was a constant drone of power boats whose motors have grown in parallel with the size of the double cab utes required to tow them, and the whine of jetskis from about 7am in the morning.

I love it at Lake Taupo but around Christmas / New Years the number of power boats just ruins it for me.

Most have headed off, which is great.

I kind of hate the boats.

Not enough sailboats up there, way too many over powered 250HP plus inadequacy compensation devices.

We stopped over at Taupo during our recent holiday trip, and it was lovely. Had a nice bike ride around part of the lakefront - much nicer than I had remembered.

Checking in from Brisbane Airport, finally heading back home! Really not looking forward to rejoining work from tomorrow, but I am looking forward to getting back to the cooler NZ climate - Oz was such a scorcher! I've no idea how people survive here geez.

Haha oh boy, lucky you feeling like it's cool in NZ. Just looking at Metservice's highs for yesterday, all around the country places were hitting 28C up to almost 30C. I'd hate to think what Aussie was like.

According to family it was 37 degrees just south of oamaru and 32 degrees a lil NW of napier at about 4.30 today. Im loving the outdoor shower at the mo :)

Having to schlep it to Paihia today to get booster jabs. There aren't any pharmacies or vaccination centres offering COVID shots in the wider Kerikeri area any more, amazingly.

[–] Floofah@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Isn’t the centre by Placemakers in Kerikeri operating? I’m ready for another booster, was planning on going there.

[–] evanuggetpi 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I spoke with Northland DHB and they said

Our Vaccination Centre is located at 1 Sammaree Place in Kerikeri and we will be back open next Thursday 18th Jan, Thursday 25th Jan and Thursday 8th February.  Appointments are currently available to book on Book My Vaccine | Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand. You may drop in as well if you prefer, though there may be a wait.

Thanks for the update, we’ll book a slot on-line.
