Did it happen to be one of the government boys saying this?

We have investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing on our part.

"what I can say is we looked at a range of boys for these jobs. We make no apologies for choosing everyday New Zealanders who all happen to be former National Party Ministers"

Repeat ad nauseum to any follow up questions until the next scandal comes along in about a day and a half.

The trouble is Labour don't have much of a leg to stand any criticism on given they tend to do similar when they've got the choice.

On her former boss, Murray McCully: "He's an excellent candidate and I wouldn't trust anyone else but him," Stanford told 1News.

Simon Bridges, from failed opposition leader, ousted National Leader, to chairing a freight lobby group (https://transporttalk.co.nz/news/simon-bridges-to-chair-new-road-freight-advisory-group), to chairman of NZTA.

Roger Sowry, after leaving Parliament ended up working for lobbyists Saunders Unsworth (http://sul.co.nz/the-team/). They work with / represent all sorts of businesses. On the face of it this one is probably less questionable other than why they need some lobbyist to come in & investigate the ferries when there's enough expertise already in the public sector. Is it because they can better predict the recommendations he'll make?
