Big. Black. Glock.

Rescue Dawn will get them hooked, especially if they're boomers. After that, you can blow their minds that that was the work of one of film history's great documentarians. Show them Lessons of Darkness. Most people have a visceral response to that imagery as it was not covered well when it occurred. You could start to delve into his Kinski era stuff after that, the obsessive narratives. He has more contemporary documentaries that are like watching nature specials to follow.

All 3 of the examples listed in the comments section - within the post you linked - only submitted hyperlinks as their complete body of content.

Aw, I missed it. How much bigger was it?

[–] Bonus@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

More solid than the original in a few ways.

[–] Bonus@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

Oh, I was definitely referring to the original. I saw it twice in the theater when it came out but it was still the equivalent of a made for tv movie at the time. Great visuals. Terrible, uneven storytelling.

TBF, no Tron movie was ever good. Just a lot of nostalgia for 80s arcade games.

Total garbage. Derivative of multiple things. Oliver Stone's Savages gave me the same shit vibe.

Bambi Meets Godzilla

In contrast to the post, The Shining trailer is what all trailers should strive to be.

Happy new year,

Noticing a particular individual I keep blocking for ages now is constantly making the rounds to start new accounts on every instance possible so they can post a barrage of things to every single community there too and noticing I can stop this here by using filters.

I can block this "person" on other lemmy instances but don't see an option to just block the keywords - this user's name - and am grateful that we have these filters and many other features here and that piefed continues to evolve into something better.

Thanks you guys.

The redaction stripes are a pattern of crime. The way the Epstein files have been handled so far is just one of countless reminders that notorious criminals belong in, not prison in the Oval Office.
