I have the ability to provide constant unyielding optimism as long as no one ever asks me how I'm doing

I think the head in the middle is supposed to be Medusa lol

I hear there's a big "thoughts and prayers" update coming up soon that's supposed to improve EVERYTHING, but I still can't tell exactly how it's meant to accomplish that

I think my biggest issue was how cartoonishly evil Count Orlok seemed. That accent they gave him made me think more of Boris Badenov than the prince of darkness. Also a lot of the characters seemed kind of one dimensional and I couldn't really get invested in any of them. I agree it had a lot in common with the Coppola version but just more stripped down and monochromatic. By the time Nosferatu ended I just wanted to go watch the Coppola one again. I agree Depp and Dafoe were the best parts of the film.

It's a cheap publicity move by an unscrupulous company trying to cash in on this never ending tragedy. Is one square foot of steel really going to save anyone, or is it just a way to make people more fearful so they buy this product?

It's entirely possible

If they need bulletproof armor just to attend school then it is too dangerous to send them there. This is not a solution to anything.

If you got a boring office job and on the first day you were issued a bulletproof vest because they keep having "incidents", would you keep working there?

All substances are made of quantum particles which science can neither fully prove nor fully disprove actually exist.

I just watched this movie earlier today and I don't get the hype. I was really looking forward to it but I ended up dozing off 2 or 3 times.

Someone needs to invest in a good antifungal treatment...

This is going pretty well except I think I picked two shades of orange that are too similar. This pattern doesn't actually tell you which colors to use it just says it's designed to use whatever you already have lol

I decided to take a break and try something a little easier with this Maneki Neko pattern!

I seasoned these with chili lime salt then pressure cooked them on high on a trivet with 1 cup of water and some lime juice for 10 minutes

Once they were done I tossed them with some smokey chipotle hot sauce and then crisped them up in the air fryer at 400f for 5 minutes per side! You could also do this step under the broiler on your oven if you don't have an air fryer

They came out super tender and juicy! They were slightly under seasoned so I might make an actual sauce next time

BONUS: there was a full cup of chickeny limey broth in the bottom of the instant pot so I sliced some potatoes in half and set them directly in the liquid and pressure cooked them for about 8 minutes and they turned out awesome!

This one may be done now lol I'm still trying to decide if it needs a border before I wash and iron it for framing

The trails are all still closed for repairs after the hurricane but I still managed to get a few pictures lol

I thought I would be done by now, but I'm still slogging through this blue spotlight with like 6 different shades of blue in it lol

I'll get there soon though!

This one is not a Rolife "book nook" type model, it's more like a diorama. If you go through my post history the last one I finished was Kiki's Magic Shop. If anyone wants to try one of these, the diorama style ones are a lot more challenging than the book nooks.

With these you are basically given a handful of pre cut parts and a ton of raw materials to basically build everything yourself, including the wiring. Also the directions are VERY basic and often open to interpretation.

Having said that these are still a lot of fun to build and MUCH more customizable! I just wanted to point it out because these have a much higher level of difficulty compared to the other models I've posted recently!

Not much of an update as I've mostly been filling in the bottom section, which has like 8 different versions of blue in it lol but I'm making decent progress! I'm hoping to be done with this one in about another week!
