Thats some premium triple-distilled trolling right there, congrats

Edit : I want going to ask, because I didn't want to ruin the magic but I can't help myself.

How do you pack it all in like that?

so concise, its almost a haiku.

Yeah, I saw it after I'd posted.

I need to be more specific in how I mean "alternative" here.

What I mean is "not of the current scientific consensus" , which I realise isn't exactly the same wording as the wikipedia definition

Thats my bad.

I also failed to mention that it also works the other way as well, where current science is discredited(fully or partially) , due to flaws in it's methodology, reproducibility or some other reason.

I think thats probably second best.

At best, the cameraperson had warned the guy and they were ignored , so filming it as a future deterrent is the compromise?

yeah, It's not the numbers specifically , it'd be the collection methodology used to obtain those numbers that'd be interesting.

I agree that there is no universally accepted general definition of intelligence , there are some very specific subset that can be somewhat reliably measured but that's not even close to a general score.

Standardised tests measure the ability to pass the tests, last i checked it was mostly rote memorization more than applications of skills learned. ( my info could be out of date or incorrect on this )

When scores are lower is doesn’t mean the students are dumber. It means the school system is failing to teach.

That's not strictly true and it's also not a mutually exclusive scenario.

For a given metric of "dumbness" it is possible for it to go up and down independent of school teaching standards and approaches. or even a combination of the teachings standards + some other things

Also if you are going to argue that perceived "dumbness" can only be attributed to failing to teach , that assumes a usable metric for "dumbness" that can be measured.

I'm mostly agreeing with your points, i'm just not seeing how "can't measure smartness" and "smartness can only be falling due to teaching failures" can be posited simultaneously.

As I'm sure you know, for the items that enforcement is improbably/impossible, their inclusion isn't about enforcement.

Being left or right doesn't change what a false equivalency is neither does describing each side in more detail.

This is

"I'm a left winger, the smooth mostly round seeded fruit that shares a name with the color orange is in fact the same as the road vehicle with four wheels, commonly used for transportation of goods that we normally call a car or 'automobile' in the old days"

I mean, I can list the false equivalencies if you like?

To clarify im not saying the point I think you're trying to make is incorrect (though I do disagree with it), I'm saying you're doing a bad job of making it.

If you are going to try and put forth or defend a position don't do it with faulty logic and/or fallacies.

[-] Senal@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

That's an interesting perspective.

You think they'd form on their own? or we shouldn't be getting to the point where they are needed or something else entirely ?

In my setup only three of them are altered from the default values.

  • privacy.resistFingerprinting
  • privacy.resistFingerprinting.block_mozAddonManager
  • privacy.resistFingerprinting.letterboxing

"privacy.resistFingerprinting" is the one i was talking about specifically, which works for me in the scenarios detailed in my response.

It's been a while since i setup this install but i know i used the arkenfox scripts as a baseline.

I have no idea how much deviation i have for the default baseline so YMMV greatly.

I only mentioned that setting because it's one i use to fix my specific problems and it might help as a starting point.

It's an entirely efficient way to allocate resources if the goal is "shareholder enrichment".

Some A-Train shenanigans afoot

Oh i see where my confusion is coming from, you're the personification of a county.

That is entirely my bad for thinking you were talking about either voting population or actual population, neither of which has a vast majority of anything.

You were just talking about how you and your swing state county personification buddies won out by a narrow margin.

What were there, like 10 of you, 12? i suppose 7 or 8 out of ~12 could be considered a vast change.

You have defeated me sir (or whatever the pronoun for a county is) , with unassailable logic, facts and a true understanding of statistics and the word "vast".

I concede.

Just realised that if you are struggling with "vast" you might not understand what a personification of something is, if so , disregard all of the above it isn't going to make any sense.

Dammit forgot the rating.

Repeating of a factually incorrect statement, self-proclaimed victory over a position not claimed or proven.

1/10 - lacks originality, no personal attacks, no strawmen, no fallacies at all as far as i can tell, not even a single slur.

A single easily provable mis-truth and then a self proclaimed victory over an imaginary battle, what is this amateur hour?

If a gambit doesn't land, you switch tactics or double down, come on now, it's like you aren't even trying.
