I'm European living in an European country with universal healthcare and I still can't afford or reach a doctor. First they make you call a nurse, that appointment will be in 5-12 weeks, then maybe if the nurse thinks you need the doctor you wait another 5-12 weeks to get to the doctor. And it costs. And also the possible exams or meds cost as well. Yes, less than in USA, but still too much..

Only way I have ever learned, in school, is by writing notes by hand into my own notebooks. Rewriting text book chapters, taking notes from teacher, writing answers down. It takes time, longer than taking notes on a laptop. But writing on laptop just doesn't "stick" the information into my head. Back in high school, I was the last student to still hand-in my essays etc in paper and my teachers were very happy to grade them, one told me it brought her good memories from the times there were less screens and teaching was easier. No wonder..
When I had laptop in glass, it was very easy to play games, watch Netflix or scroll Reddit. I had no self-control, I was not able to force myself to focus in learning. They started using laptops and tablets in glasses when we were 13 and most of us found ways to play games etc on them, bypassed the restrictions. And we shared the knowledge on that. Oh, also I dropped out eventually.
Excellent point.
Onnea matkaan sitten vaan!
Kinda same here. I might start crying from frustration and this causes many issues, mainly it makes people misunderstand the whole situation. And trying to explain anything after that is pretty much impossible, except with my fiancé.
Edited a correct link to an explanation thread here.
TLDR; An third-party front end for Lemmy has shadow banned many users, communities and instances without telling about it to it's own users, making those users unaware of majority of the content all across Lemmy.
It was probably One, but likely just a cheap and crappy skin from Wish or somewhere like that. User-error now that I think of it.
I have not seen a single comment or post that this would be unpopular take at all on this mess. Every place I look is people judging this, sharing the lists or making memes on whether they have been banned or not. Where are the users who agree with the hideyhole-shadowbanning? I'd like to see what their arguments are.
// I went looking and found a few comments, but all of those were downvoted into oblivion and/or misunderstood/oversimplified the situation. So I think OP is in the popular side with their opinion.
Oh, alright, thanks! And yes, very likely my friend blocked the vents or that the skin was just very badly designed.
Not the old logo... </3
