+1 for Mlem - seems to have a nice feel for Reddit-esque 3PA.
Can't wait to see how the app evolves (and awesome it's open source!)

I don't mind the odd post like this, but if it were to become a lot of what is posted I don't really think it is that appropriate for our c/NZ - maybe if we had a separate community for random off-topic stuff it would be okay, but then, why not post it in lemmy.ml or wherever else is more relevant for this type of stuff.
Just my 2c.
You must be a real life sysadmin with those skills!
I really should have said I’m from Ōtepoti shouldn’t I :)
Hope you’re doing alright up there, I know how cold it gets up there in winter!
The fire is a bloody godsend, really needed it recently!
Certainly feels like it these past couple of days - we just got firewood delivered today so now we won’t freeze!
That's a good take on it actually!
If you consider how many people are using the Matrix network, then Lemmy instances will probably end up fine. Just gotta convert lurkers to active participants (like me, I mostly lurked on reddit, but have been a bit more active on my home instance)
Yeah it was a bit of trial and error getting to the solution! Wasn’t helped by the fact that I use a password manager that obviously pastes the password in - and they said in a GitHub issue that the Lemmy-ui front end truncates anything after the 60 characters, so wouldn’t have seen the issue as I wasn never typing the password in!
Gotta love password managers taking the hassle out of the long passwords these days :D
I'm in Dunedin, so would subscribe to that one too ;)
I’d vote for this one too!
