The special white cap is a receiver. Sometimes, though, he needs to don a much larger hat in order to get better reception.

When the Pope tilts his head while wearing the Mitre (the big one), it acts like a directional yagi antenna. This is also why churches use "sacred geometry"; which is really just a clever method of improving reception of divine wideband.

The (real) gold thread on his hat isn't just to make it look fancy, it's sophisticated circuitry! When the Pope tilts his head in prayer, he's actually calibrating the tilt sensor to minimize packet loss.

Microsoft is trying to make Xbox into Windows: Where 3rd parties make the hardware and then license the platform from Microsoft. It's a vastly more profitable model. Especially if they get all those end users signed up for a subscription service.

The problem is that the world thinks of "Xbox" as a console (and a specific kind of controller). To pull this off Microsoft is going to have to re-brand Xbox entirely by making people think of it more like a game-specific app store that runs on Windows and special handheld hardware. It won't be easy.

There's a bigger problem with this plan though: No real coordination with the Windows OS team. Windows on handhelds sucks. The past twenty fucking years of Windows development has been almost entirely focused on improving enterprise features with very little attention paid to end users or gaming.

Growth in Windows gaming has come despite Microsoft's investments. Not because of them. In fact, I'd argue that if it weren't for Steam, Windows—as a gaming platform—would be a fraction of what it is today.

Don't get me wrong, though! I love this new Xbox roadmap! Windows gaming has been holding back Linux desktop adoption for far too long. The latest benchmarks that show games on SteamOS vastly outperforming the new Xbox-branded handhelds pretty clearly demonstrates all that bashing of Windows by Linux nerds was deeply accurate.

It turns out that Linux on the desktop really is superior! 🤣

Something tells me that the MAGA base won't be too happy about this. They want the deportations to happen in their communities.

"Sorry Texas: Because you're full of MAGA people we're cutting your ICE resources."

Here's the thing: That's exactly what Trump supporters want. That's the "pain" Musk talked about.

They don't care about the cost. Money or human.

I asked a Trump supporter how they wanted to handle American citizen children of illegal immigrants and they said they wanted the children taken away and placed into Christian indoctrination programs (they didn't call it that but that's what they meant).

we left reddit because censoreship hurr durr

The people leaving Reddit because of censorship did so long ago. These dissatisfied/censored people have a new home anyway... They can view child porn, people being brutally tortured/murdered, and make all the threats of violence they want on Twitter now. They just have to be careful not to insult the, "free speech absolutist" dictator or he'll have them banned.

The mass migration today is because of dissatisfaction with Reddit's decision to end 3rd party apps and specifically, the way in which they handled it. The dishonesty, the heavy-handed dictator-like seizure of protesting communities, the complete disregard for accessibility/moderation tools, etc.

To claim that people are leaving Reddit "because of censorship" isn't just missing the point, it's flat out wrong.
