Is this labour doing an actual labour thing?

requires repairs

Black mold fucking everywhere.
Might be a fun project

Didn't the kinda do that in Behind The Curve?
They used a long body of water as a flat reference, set up 3 columns with a hole through them at the same height above the water reference.
A torch shone through 1 end should be visible at the other end if all of the holes are on the same plane.
Because of the curvature, they had to lift the last column to be able to see the light.
They didn't manage to explain that one

But it is a fixed ratio.
If it was in pounds, metric tons, moles or atomic mass units... It doesn't change the ratio, the actual number.

Would it be acceptable to drop the unit all together?
"Lethal dose is 0.000000012 : 1 (substance : bodyweight)" (I made up the number).
I'm not sure if there is a better way of writing the ratio.

Could a fraction be more applicable?
"lethal dose is 1/600000 of bodyweight"

I'm sure it's written as ng/kg to show the base units are the same, and the rest is just "fiddling" scientific notation

Proceedurally.
So, "hands are supposed to be here" and the arms figure out the rest.
By the time add in "finger pointing at this" combined with spells to make your thumb big (or whatever, ultimately everything is made at a base level to allow for a lot of creativity further up the stack) means the finger might drive the scaling of the arm.

Same with the strange jumping. Body "jumped" in a downwards direction, and the feet animated correctly in an upwards direction. Ends up with a body doing a strange wrap around itself as it figures out how the feet can be above the torso.

Walking books might be a really easy way to animate a book flying around, have physics and a health pool without having to create a whole new object/entity class (just inherit all the features and disable the standard person/object body).

The faces-talking-out-the-head thing is animation data imported with the wrong scaling. Some parts can just move to where the animation says they are, others warp the geometry of the rest of the model.

Remember that a lot of the models and animation will be made with no idea how they end up being used, at the same time as they are actually programmed into the game. There might be some iteration, but its not like they know the end result, make the models, make the animations, make the game. All this happens at the same time, and any iteration might set multiple departments back days or weeks.
So, super flexible APIs, models and animations are designed at the start in a way that allows for a small amount of specialisation and iteration, but the rest is all "bodge what you have available". Ultimately if it isnt flexible enough early in development then its going to cost a lot to fix

Yeh, Driver should trigger OTP delivery.
Recipient should get a text/app-notification with a "is the driver in front of you (physically in front of you, at your door)? Be aware of OTP scams" prompt.
Then release the OTP code to the recipient.
Driver types it in, and hands over the package.

Equally, the driver-contact-customer SMS normally has a "your driver is trying to contact you. Please reply STOP to opt out" pre-message, before delivering the drivers message. This could include a "remember, OTP codes should be exchanged in person and not via SMS" warning.

Family sized bags of chips are also a comfort food and very appealing when depressed.
They are cheap enough and filling enough and interesting enough that you can find yourself munching through them as you try and distract yourself from whatever.
It's quite easy to set up a vicious circle of depressed -> eat crap -> depression.
And it is very difficult to break out of it

c = pi x d

So, to increase d by 2 meters (cause d = 2 x r), that's 2 X pi, or 6.28 meters for string?

https://www.techtarget.com/searchsecurity/news/366551978/Browser-companies-patch-critical-zero-day-vulnerability

Citizen Lab said Blastpass was discovered on the device of an employee with "a Washington DC-based civil society organization" and that it could be mitigated by Apple's Lockdown Mode. An investigation into the exploit chain continues, but researchers said it involved "PassKit attachments containing malicious images sent from an attacker iMessage account to the victim."

Edit:

Fuck my reading skill (or fuck articles listing multiple high profile CVEs)...
Blastpass is not the same libwebp CVE (blastpass, the iMessage thing, is CVE-2023-41064. libwebp is CVE-2023-4863 - although that is the chrome one, despite this affecting libwebp not chrome).

I think the whole situation is very rapidly being researched and it's all developing.
So, no idea if lockdown mode would have any effect

Thanks.
That's super reassuring and affirming.
I guess coming to the conclusion I probably have ADHD and/or bipolar has made me tunnel vision on a black/white result for that. As opposed to, the professional is going to try and help me.

Best counter point is y2k.
Huge publicity. Massive amounts of money spent.
New year 1999/2000 was uneventful (except for parties).
..... Y2k was a hoax, waste of money.... Wut?!

It wasn't. There's is proof of such. It was removed/mitigated by a huge effort of developers.

Very true.
If you are learning JavaScript, typescript is absolutely worth learning as well.
React and Vue have some additional paradigms, but it is basically just JavaScript/typescript.
It's a lot to learn all in one step.

I guess it's like trying to learn C# and Unity all in one
