after reading this i did eventually learn that there is app pinning on android (or atleast grapheneos?) ! did not know about this might come in handy.

Tap Security & Privacy > More security & privacy > App pinning. After that is enabled, if you want to pin an app, open it, swipe up into the recent-apps view, tap the icon of the app above the preview pane, and select "Pin". The feature is buried a bit. I believe this is because it's more of a best-effort protection. The settings page itself says: "When an app is pinned, the pinned app may open other apps and personal data may be accessible. If you want to securely share your device with someone, try using a guest user instead.

A few months ago I ( @wslyvh@lemmy.ml )shared Paperweight here. An open-source desktop app that scans your inbox to map out your digital footprint.

Every account you create, every service you sign up for, every online purchase is connected to your email address. Most people have 100+ accounts they've forgotten about, creating security risks and privacy exposure.

Local-first. Your inbox is scanned on your own device, your data never leaves it, and there is no account or cloud component.

Since last time, a lot has changed:

• New pii analysis engine to check addresses, phones, IBANs, national IDs, cards, and more
• Improved multi-language lexicons for better classification
• Track GDPR data requests you send fromPaperweight
• Improved sync, receiver, hide-my-email aliases, and message tagging

Over the past decade, the steady march of digital technology, dominated by a cartel of giant global firms who collude with the US government’s system of political repression in exchange for tax breaks, antitrust forbearance and fat federal contracts has yielded more mass surveillance productivity gains than the previous 25 years.

So, the EU Digital ID is threatening to kill alt Android and Linux phones, but this is also probably gonna screw over desktops too, because going by how it's laid out by Mental Outlaw here, desktops could start being required to run Win11 with Pluton enforcement to comply with this, which would not only lock out Linux and BSD desktops, but also older desktops in general which can't run Win11, and even older desktops which can run Win11 but are too old to support Pluton, meaning just like you have to buy a new Google or Apple phone to comply with this, you'd also have to buy a new Win11 desktop or laptop as well

Hubzilla version 11.4 was released recently, now has a new docker image built and should be ready for use.

On a technical note, if your setup involves connection pooling regarding your database, you will need to set system.pdo_emulate_prepares to true within your htconfig.php. The 11.4 release of the docker image, has the appropriate line in the htconfig.php commented out, for your convenience; naturally if you edit your htconfig in other ways (CLI, etc) that will still work, as well. Whichever way you choose to deploy your instance, you have options available to you.
