A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

Cost of living is a big factor here. 100k in NYC is comparable to 50k in the Midwest. Stepping outside in NYC feels like it costs 100 dollars every time you do it.
I feel the opposite, because I just walk places instead of driving. Not having a car is a big savings!
I got my monthly food budget around $100/month for a bit when I was unemployed.
Yeah, no car is huge. Also, while there's obviously very expensive restaurants, there's also a lot of very inexpensive street food options all over the place that other "less expensive cities" don't have. One can get extremely reasonably priced groceries in Chinatown. It's not all bad in NYC.
