if u changed their sex but not their gender wouldn't they have the same level of dysphoria just plus confusion?

Cheaping out and buying only the gender or sex change traps instead of the combo, rookie mistake
I mean it's hardly a trap if it doesn't have some kind of negative effects.
You dont place both traps in the same place.
No, IMO.
Assuming someone was happily cis, if they fall into a sex change trap it's obvious what happened, what's wrong, and what they need to fix to solve it and get "back to normal"
Fall into a gender change trap, you might not even notice what's wrong, initially. You might spend weeks, months, years feeling bad in your own skin and not understanding why, or what's wrong, or how to fix it.
Which is essentially the trans experience.
Gender change traps are a lot more insidious and evil than sex change ones, and I think we know this.
I bet trans people would self-select into the adventuring profession if sex change magic was a thing. Also, if permanent sex/gender change traps are a thing, there might be any number of cis adventurers who are dysphoric because they already ran into such a trap elsewhere ...
Then they should carry gender change potions as a cure. Every good adventurer knows that.
If they were already dysphoric, they wouldn’t be bc they match. If they weren't, they are meow.
