No, IMO.
Assuming someone was happily cis, if they fall into a sex change trap it's obvious what happened, what's wrong, and what they need to fix to solve it and get "back to normal"
Fall into a gender change trap, you might not even notice what's wrong, initially. You might spend weeks, months, years feeling bad in your own skin and not understanding why, or what's wrong, or how to fix it.
Which is essentially the trans experience.
Gender change traps are a lot more insidious and evil than sex change ones, and I think we know this.

I bet trans people would self-select into the adventuring profession if sex change magic was a thing. Also, if permanent sex/gender change traps are a thing, there might be any number of cis adventurers who are dysphoric because they already ran into such a trap elsewhere ...
Then they should carry gender change potions as a cure. Every good adventurer knows that.

The original purpose of sex-change traps was to induce dysphoria to cisgender characters.
Walking into a room full of traps, feeling like a kaleidoscope of sexual horror, as the mad wizard across the room just scream laughs as your party breaks down, hugging and crying for the fourth time this hour.
If you didn't know, this is a reference to Tomb Of Horrors, an AD&D module where this is a real trap. It changes "gender" (in context it also means sex), and alignment to the opposite of the character.
How does it work with non binary / isogender gender configuration (including agender, multigender, etc) and with gender fluidity ?
