Yes and no. It is part of a brand name... but there is no generic version of the product that I am aware of. It's similar to TVP but not the same. (Ironically TVP is the same despite what rule 2 implies on this site. It's trademarked by Archer Daniel Midland company).
So I would say if the concern is the rules here, there isn't a generic 1:1 analog.
We easily find something called soy curds in asian markets. It appears to be the same thing.
I have heard of soy curds, and tried to find some. But all searches return soy curls for me.
I never tried buying them online. Most asian markets seem to have at least one option. Some markets in southern CA have a variety of shapes, sizes and brands.
The closet Asian market is 79 miles, and in a part of the city i rarely go.

I know they are different, I was t trying to get more info on them. But searches return only info about soy curls.
Right but if you are looking for soy curd recipes or info look up yuba, tofu skins or bean curd. Soy curd isn't a typical name for them even though it is technically accurate.

I don't believe soy curds are the same as soy curls. AFAIK soy curds are essentially tofu so even the dried ones are dried tofu. Soy curls haven't gone thru the same processing I believe and contain only soybean.
