It is kind of annoying people blaming Americans as if I personally am responsible for the shit Trump does.
If you collectively (and thus, somewhat personally) aren't responsible then who the fuck is?
Collective punishment is dumb, just ask Palestine in regards to hamas
Settle down now, people are saying shit about y'all on the internet, not quite what's happening to Palestinians is it.
People also say that we deserve Trump and we are responsible for the genocide in Palestine if we criticize the dems. Collective punishment is a through line for our systems to justify its actions.
I think critics of our fascist American leaders understand that not every single American voted for them but they are criticizing America as a whole, not you as an individual. It’s like how I appreciated Hungarians for starting to break away from their ugliness, even though plenty voted for Orban.
Critics in general understand this, but not most lemmy.ml users. Just read the other replies here.
