Mine was faily normal. I managed another 10k run on Saturday, after doing my first in 18 months the previous week. It actually felt quite effortless and could have gone further which is a huge improvement, it wasn't long ago I was struggling to make 4k. I'm almost positive that wracking up the km's on my walking pad and lengthy bike rides are helping recovery and endurance.

The current price of diesel is making me look into electric cars again but daaayyymmmm they're expensive.

Oh nice, whats your walking pad like? I might want to move towards something like that

I bought this. I use it every working day and I'll easily get a minimum of 10k steps a day on it. On good days I'll get over 20k. Well worth it in my opinion, so much better for you than sitting down all day!

Ah jeez very tempted. Getting more steps in while I work would be a game changer. Is it practical for doing like, typing and data entry tasks while you walk?

Do it! I've just managed to do 3km on my daily stand up meeting.

Is it practical for doing like, typing and data entry tasks while you walk?

It's fine. I slow it down when I'm doing a lot of typing, and speed it up when I'm in meetings or doing more admin-style work. Obviously you don't need to be on it all the time too, you could use it as much as you want.

One caveat is that I get very hot doing it, and my colleagues mentioned that they get hot too. I have a tower fan near me that's on all the time. Not much of an issue for the next several months, but it was difficult during summer.

I am glad not to have a job that includes a great deal of meetings, I get to sweat and look like shit all day if I want. And I have a big balcony door right behind me for fresh air if I need cooling, so... Yeah I might have to get into one of these gizmos.

When looking at EV, are you taking into account the monthly fuel saving? (If you can charge cheaply at home).

EV:

Assume 3 miles per kWh (this is the bad side of average)

kWh = 7.5p night rate

EV Cost per mile = 7.5p/3 = 2.5p per mile

Dino juice:

Assume 30 mpg

Assume £1.50 per litre

There is 4.54609 litres per gallon.

So 4.54609 * £1.50 = £6.82 per gallon.

ICE Cost per mile = 682p/30 = 23p per mile

Have a play with the numbers. Work out what you would save per month. Subtract that from the monthly cost delta of buying an EV. The servicing is cheaper and less breaks, but that harder to put in a spread sheet.
