What’s fuelling the rise of the far right? (sh.itjust.works)

It’s been reported that in the German elections, a far right party has made ‘significant gains’.

In the UK (at least before the scandals) Reform UK seems to have had a significant boost and has even surpassed the right-wing Conservative Party in some polls/predictions.

Even France, one or two years ago, was threatened with a far-right government due to the French far right party gaining a lot of support.

It feels like in the last few years, the far-right has exceeded itself and had a surge in popularity. Is this the case? And if so, wtf is fuelling it?

Go and observe a tree, and then compare your experience to the word "tree" in your mind. Even among the same species, of the same age, in the same area, each tree is absolutely unique. Its shape is different, its size is different, its texture is different, even its energy differs - and for those billions and billions of unique and individual lifeforms on earth you have the word... "tree".

Then there's thinking about right and wrong which is infinitely more complex.

Thinking has no connection to reality.

Anyone that goes along with the two party system just endlessly postphones any real societal change. And what do people who want the status quo to remain always say?

"Obviously you can see that we can't change that right now, but if you support where we are for this election, surely we'll get to what you want one day!" How long have they promised this? These are the words of every exploiter ever, and it never ends.

It's not vagueposting, you want to discuss right and wrong and you don't know Jung? You're doomed to fail no matter what you do.

On your last point you're once again arguing for the lesser evil, which will perpetuate evil until the end of time.

So, in other words, your thoughts about the concept of a tree are a generalization, or a synthesis, or an interpretation of reality, rather than being reality itself. No offense, but uh... duh? Those are all connections though...?

There is not reason not to either 1. support the harm reduction strategy by voting for the better party who is likely to win or 2. promote radical change by voting third party. Either of these strategies is justifiable.

I have read a lot of moral theory and it never seems to usefully extend a system of simple principles based on intuition. In most cases it is exactly that.

No, the point is that if the complexity of the word "tree" transcends anything you could even remotely attempt to describe in language, how will you find a thought which is the "right one"? You're always going to be wrong, and it is only people who understand that all attempts at being right will make you wrong, who end up being somewhat useful in doing good.

Agree that voting either is good.

What do you mean by the last part?
