Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives have condemned a raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar's home as "deeply disturbing" and accused the Trump administration of a "rogue abuse of power" just weeks ahead of November's midterm elections.

Let's see if they do anything besides strong words and maybe some paddles.

The dnc can get fucked. I hope the only ppl that win their elections are socialist candidates that want universal healthcare, taxing the rich, et al. Maybe then the dnc will get the message

DNC will declare bankruptcy before they change their tune

[-] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 5 points 9 hours ago

The GOP will bankrupt your country and massacre thousands on thousands before they change.

Get some fucking perspective and take action instead of moping.

[-] zbyte64@awful.systems 6 points 9 hours ago

Isn't that the point? That we shouldn't wait for the DNC to act but take matters into our own hands? That's not moping, it's saying no one is coming to save us so we don't need permission to act.

I understand your point, but...

They're not taking matters into their own hands either. They're just waiting for someone DIFFERENT to come save them.

Isn't this the meme "I like pancakes" - "So you hate waffles?"

Recently went to a community organized meeting where we coordinated ICE watch actions, how to pressure our school board, care packages for those they release, etc. They also asked us to vote and to talk to our families about voting.

I mean, I want to have those policies and services too, but you're saying if it's a non-socialist Democrat versus a Republican, you want the Republican to win?

I'm guessing if that happens you'll get your wish for no DNC by 2028, because we'll be a state-enforced one-party system by then.

but you’re saying if it’s a non-socialist Democrat versus a Republican, you want the Republican to win

We're saying if its fascist or fascist-lite, we'll select neither in order to pressure fascist-lite to do better. And if the Dems still dont wanna then they can lose. Its the only way to prerssure them. We cant play chicken we have to give them real consequences.

I'm glad people are finally starting to understand how Tankies work. I'd be real skeptical of any lemmy_today accounts you see, they're still federated with the Tankie hive that is Hexbear. They're just Russian and Chinese trolls, the lot of them. It'll be nice once everyone decent finally makes the move over to piefed and we can start delisting all of the lemmy instances.
