It's almost astounding how much of a joke America is today

Today? We've been a joke, a dark, bad one, for longer than this. We've just dropped the pretense of being a serious nation and the macabre circus we are.

Yep, and we have not even begun changing course on being a joke. Its still full speed ahead. The republicans are still evil and clueless and the dems have changed nothing since Biden/Harris shat the bed and lost. Even out of power the Dems are delivering on their promise that "nothing will fundamentally change".

No politicians from either party ever mention the Mossad Epstein operation, or the Palestinian, Syrian, and Lebanese holocaust either. Not a single word in years.

We got a few DSA candidates that won primaries, so assuming they win the general, it's not all doom and gloom.

Did he? Its hard to tell because I'm getting real tired of Biden/Harris/Trumps versions of "winning". For the love of god can the centrists stop this "winning"? Just go back to the stuff the voters actually want, like ending genocide support, end collusion with the kleptocrats, pay attention to civil rights, and prosecute the effing pedo Epstein criminals.

Did Biden get any of that done? Last I heard he was ending 'occupy' and 'defund' and boosting cop funding as an eff-you-for-bringing-even-iit-up, and assuring the elite that "nothing will fundamentally chAnge" electing him over trump. And it sure seems like the current centrist dem leadership is ditching LGBTQ and continuing to ignore the genocide while tickling the balls of the kleptocrats. Newsom is a top candidate for president and he is nuking tax increases for the rich while trying to enshrine laws that we are necver allowed to propose a wealth tax again (prop 42). Is this what winning looks like to you and the the Dem leadership? You seem to be their spokesman and cheerleader, want to comment?

We need to stop treating it like a joke and instead start treating it as a threat. Things are not going to get better if we don't start doing something about it. Voting is a start. Other countries need to stop complying. Introduce sanctions. Register trump and his administration a terrorist group. Do literally anything other than wait and hope it fixes itself.

[-] stinkytofuisgood@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

I'm not in America. My country and its citizens already treat it as a threat largely. It's still a joke of a country regardless.

[-] Switorik@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Joke is putting it lightly and can be easily brushed off. Its much more serious and needs to be treated like a threat against humanity.

[-] stinkytofuisgood@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 day ago

You're the American here, not me.

[-] Switorik@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I don't know what the point of your reply is. I understand the president of the country I'm in is a terrorist. I don't support it. I also don't support other countries giving into his every whim.

Im sick of people saying it's a joke and not doing anything to stop it. It's affecting the world, not just the failure that America is.

You're an American telling a non-American how America needs to be treated...

Sorry bud but you don't get to dictate the way non-Americans feel or act. We've been responding to this shit for years, we already know how bad it is.

Americans are ultimately responsible for how long this shitshow continues. So maybe spend less time lecturing non-Americans about America and spend more time lecturing your countrymen.

Edit: I have no personal qualms with you. I don't know you. This isn't solely about you. I hope that's clear.
