You know... Call me crazy, but something like that could work? Ideally just free, but checklists for the 20 most common items to help remind you what you might miss, and also possibly recipes (frequently switched) from things the shop keeps in stock.

I presume it's the onboard computer that does the camera processing for tracking, and managing the wireless stream when streaming. They'd need to get a supply of cheaper chips that can still keep up with the processing, alongside less RAM and minimal storage, and develop a cut down system image that cannot run games and only does tracking and streaming. Unless you want a wired steam frame, I guess.

Which is all feasible, but it would take work, and then you'd get to manufacturing another variant, maintaining another version of firmware/software, how many people would go for it. And I have the impression Valve is already having trouble procuring enough hardware as is.

I am a fan of Valve, but this is just way exaggerated. For example, encourages you to save money by having sales? Isn't that about manipulating you into buying more games than you would otherwise, because you perceive the value as being better?

You know, I never thought about how old Link and Zelda are in the games. Never really had a need, of course, but in some games it's made obvious (literally switching between child link and adult link), I'm not sure if it's explicitly stated for wind waker but just look at him... But then, in BotW there's implications of past romance, and this being the last Zelda game I played might have primed me to not think of Link as a kid.

I do believe it's illegal if they take a repository with a restrictive license (which includes any repository without a license), and then make it available on their own service. I think China just doesn't care.

I will happily recommend Arch to a new user... If they're interested in learning Linux, and not dependent on it working reliably, while warning them of the risks and telling them about the advantages.

I wouldn't recommend it to somebody who wants something that just works, but for tech-inclined people looking for a system they are in control (and responsibility) of, willing to learn how to set it up, I think a manual installation is a good experience.

But they will be warned.
