Ha! Love it! Can't address the argument and then go for a middle school insult while acting like you made a point!

I'll enjoy that block and wear it like a badge of honor.

Great conversation.

your refusal to vote didn’t stop any of it.

You literally said your. You didn't say they, or Abandon Harris voters, you said you. You just got all emotional and you did a ad hominem there bucko.

The only thing that is pathetic is your lack of being able to discuss issues without being all butt hurt and just repeating the red herring of surrendering instead of addressing the argument that a protest vote can have impact.

You can talk the harm that comes from a protest vote, I'm not even arguing against the fact that a protest vote can result in shit results but that's not what I argued is it? You just can't hold a conversation of ideas and that's okay.

Great conversation.

My guess, they're selectively apply the Controlled Substances Act on her. Since it's still on the books as a schedule III drug, technically anyone running a dispensary is breaking the law and can be prosecuted federally.

Now we're into ad hominem attacks! Awesome!

And man, you've got projection issues to assume that I didn't vote and taking things so personal over a discussion about not voting/protest votes being a vector for change.

ETA: So just for the record since you're getting all emotional here, while I do not agree with the Abandon Harris movement, I understand why they did it, and post election analysis did show that even with their non-vote, it would not have affected the outcome of the presidential race in that state. I still don't agree with what they did and I'm pissed that they had the audacity to complain about how things got worse for Palestine and themselves after Trump took office but even with that disagreement with their actions, I can still at least acknowledge their impact post election and how this Democratic primary season we saw a lot of progressives win and a lot of them running on the fact they were anti-APAIC and I maintain that the Abandon Harris PROTEST was one factor in that movement.

Again, I hate defending newsweek because yeah, they don't exactly put out great and insightful articles but damn, here I go because I think you're wrong in your premise.

  1. Journalists put things in quotes or put things like "purported" in headlines like this to provide some distance between their reporting of a person's claim and not present it as fact which would put them in the sights of a libel suit, especially with this batch of sue happy morons in power. Not saying that there's not disingenuous journalists that abuse this for fear mongering but I don't believe this is the case here.

  2. Yeah, not a great article I do agree, it's a bunch of BS fluff all around the substance but this seems to be the only source that's reporting on what the Tennessee office's non-response response which I think is worth noting and without this crap article, which I agree is mostly complete bullshit, unfortunately I would not have know that they were being shitty in their official capacity, which is what I think should be discussed and brought to light. I mean I'm not watching the Tennessee's office for a response and neither are you.

So it's never a great day when a woman duly elected into office has to behave like a domestic violence victim because of the fascist actions perpetrated by the very government she works with.

Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore L. Louise Lucas, the Democratic leader behind the state’s redistricting effort, was arrested Thursday in connection with an alleged bribery and racketeering scheme.

In a 45-page indictment filed in the Eastern District of Virginia, Lucas and six co-defendants were charged with conspiring to distribute and possess marijuana, conspiring to launder money, laundering money, and committing bribery by distributing large quantities of illegal marijuana under the auspices of her legal medical cannabis business.

Lucas, an 82-year-old great-grandmother, has served in the Virginia Senate since 1992. She faces five of the eight charges included in the indictment. These charges arrive five months after the FBI raided Lucas’s office in Portsmouth, Virginia, and the neighboring cannabis dispensary she co-owns.

More fascist BS.

And Republicans continue to say the Left is the ones responsible for fomenting political violence.

The CISA employees repeatedly told the political appointees that their request was impossible, in part because the agents capable of pulling off such an operation had just been laid off by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative. The appointees eventually stopped pressing CISA.

So once again, democracy saved only due to the incompetence of this administration and Musk.

President Trump told an audience in North Carolina that if Republicans retain control of Congress in the upcoming November midterm elections, he would direct the Justice Department to quickly settle “all remaining legitimate claims” related to contaminated water at the nearby Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, where thousands of cases remain unresolved.

“If we don’t win, there’s no money,” Trump said Tuesday night at a campaign rally in Greenville. “If we do win, you’re getting it. It’s going to be finally over with, that nightmare that’s been going on for so many years. We will never abandon the heroes who served America.”
