And it shows. The water level in my well is finally raising again. It has been 2cm^*^ at the lowest point

* There is a 'safety' margin there. I did not set it exactly at zero so I always have a little more than is shown.

Just got my 2nd Inguinal hernia operation. Nothing much else to do but walk frequently (god I miss my dog so much) and the rest of the time taking it easy with an e reader. (and finally some time to look at openhab)

Cried my eyes out at the vet's .... I've lost my best friend. Two cancers in his mouth left no choice but letting him go. I still feel the warmth of his head and his last breath under my hand. I'm hurt to the bone but glad his pain is over.

Tomorrow, breakfast will be overnight oats. Just fill an appropriate sized container with

  • oats
  • cocos
  • frozen red fruits
  • yogurt

and that sits in the fridge for a night. Usually one add some milk, but I found the frozen fruits to releases enough moisture.

My wife doesn't understand how I can see it as food, let alone eat it, but I love oats. My daughter transports oatly (oat milk) and sometimes brings me some if the factory has a damaged pallet. I only use it to cook my oats (damn, you don't need to add sugar with that stuff!!) and a combination of additives like raisin and/or seeds and/or nuts and/or apple. and cinnamon. you gotta have cinnamon.

I replaced my water installation some weeks ago. The copper pipes did not show build-up. I cut the pipe at the hydrofor to make it easier getting it up the stairs that was another story. I think it's 45 years of build-up

This week I've been I rebuilding my main water installation and also did some procrastination (i'm good at that!) on the boring task of isolating warm water pipes, but now it's done.

The water heater started leaking, the hydrofor started leaking, the pipes had several dead ends, no of it fastened to the walls, and what's not clear in the 1st picture is the complete mess at the pump.

New water heater, new hydropress, pipes mounted to the walls, re-routed electricity. Re-used what I could, but much is new. My pride: I could not get a flens that fitted the pump (yeah, an industrial one of twice the price of a similar jetpump). I found I could remove the flens and fit a coupling I have in a box for over 30 years and survived 3 moves. Removing it was exciting, it had been in place for 40+ years but I managed without damaging the cast irons pump housing.

There is still some 'floating' pipes to fix, but over 95% of the job is done. Man, did that improve the water flow !!!

Gonna be a part of my grill table so I can use cast iron cookware. Gotta smoothen a few bits and have not thought much about how to mount it (probably two iron bars under it)

edit: Thanks for all the remarks. I had some of the concerns myself (but decided a test-drive could confirm/take away those) Now I'm not all that sure if i'm gonna use it or make a different solution. Also due to the weight. It's something like 30Kg. The kamado is another 100Kg plust the table itself ...... it's getting heavy.

The (indoor) swimming pool is closed for 2 weeks during summertime (welcome to Sweden) that's also why a year subscription is valid for 54 weeks.

So instead I went to a nearby lake to swim during my lunch break. (The biggest advantage to that specific beach is you only have to bring a towel.)

A "nato member" threatens invading another NATO member ......

Well Europe, we'd better gear up. Although I don't have much hope for us now our spineless 'leaders' don't even dare to call the Venezuela illegal (let alone an act of war)

Canada and the U.S. have since agreed to launch formal discussions to review their trade agreement

I don't think that's gonna make a difference anymore. Reverting the 2025 decisions will not revert things. The sentiment has changed among the common people.

Only in the USA ... the president is doing product advertisement. In a democracy the president would be sent home and banned for life from any government function. How much more before the USA citizens notice something is very wrong with having him as POTUS

I'm stunned .... again !! .... I have visited Auschwitz and it's impressive beyond words. At the entrance of the former gas chambers there is a sign asking to respect and remember those who died in there and keep silent in the chambers. Everyone did except for Israeli students. That is what brought the tears to my eyes. Betrayed and disrespected again, this time by their own.
