How the fuck did they spend $1.5M on an entirely AI movie?
This would have done numbers as a Segway ad
Similar to an eel in that it was largely misunderstood and undiscovered until relatively recently?
My favorite, rarely discussed, fun fact about Freud is that he was originally a marine biologist trying to be the first person to find eel genitalia. After like 20 years of failing at that he gave up and moved on to the far simpler task of enumerating the human condition
For those out of the loop, scientists were puzzled for centuries about how eels reproduce because they couldnt find any with genitals. Obviously we know they must have them though. Within the last 5-10 years we finally discovered that eels dont grow their genitals until their final stage of life (after like 40-60 years), when they return to the Sargasso sea to breed and then die. They dont even eat in their final stage. Just 100% focused on fucking and dying. We first had to figure out that they breed exclusively in the Sargasso before we could finally understand how they work, and find eels that had their genitals
They are “rare” in the sense that they are never found in high concentrations, and yeah you have to process a lot of shit you dont want out in order to get them isolated. Other than that they are literally everywhere, just in tiny bits
Idk Providence can be a bit unclean, it was built on a swamp after all
If were ever in “ive lost my trashcan” territory, Id really prefer they not make it a cutesy segment on the news while my house is ripped down to the studs
People literally partied in the street when Osama Bin Laden was killed
Everybody wants to bash Americans, but the reality is that, as we see time and time again, 1/3rd of any given population is unrepentantly stupid and would throw everyone (including themselves) under the bus just so they can feel good about their “team” winning
1/3rd of people will support anything, no matter how horrific. No matter the consequences. No matter the lack of any underlying logic.
It must be human nature to some extent, otherwise the worst things wouldnt always bottom out at exactly 33% support
It would also make corporate office real estate worth significantly leas, and corporate office real estate is pretty much a backbone of the entire economy, especially wrt banks investments. Which is why, despite many positive reasons to do it, it will never happen. At least until such time as banks can migrate away from those investments
Thankfully, the genius of Polymarket will allow you to bet on whether or not their fortune cookie ad campaign will result in casualties
Theres an alignment chart in here somewhere, and Im pretty sure Ive been in each section of it at some point

The point of banning phones in schools was eliminating the distraction and increasing student engagement, not fixing their mental health.
Theyre still addicted to the square the minute they get out of school, obviously. So thats bad for their mental health. Schoolkids before smartphones also didnt exactly have the best mental health anyways, so Im not sure why its considered an important metric.
What matters is whether or not banning the phones increased the amount kids are actually learning and focusing on education and socialization. Their mental health is largely irrelevant in that discussion
