I'd argue the coffee is better for you vs the monster but don't smoke.

[-] medem@lemmy.wtf 34 points 5 days ago

No need to argue. Caffeine is only bad for your health if you take insane amounts of it, and coffee itself has actual benefits, something you could literally never state about energy drinks. As for smoking vs. vaping, dunno.

[-] prettybunnys@piefed.social 14 points 5 days ago

Coffee filtered through paper filters to remove the cafestol, in moderation, shows marked health benefits.

And maybe a pipe later.

My old roommate used to call coffee and a cigarette "a pilot's breakfast."

[-] insanemantis@lemmy.world 21 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Vaping and coffee are both less likely to kill you than their alternatives

Seems like it's not about traditional vs modern

[-] JamesBoeing737MAX@sopuli.xyz 3 points 3 days ago

Yep, that's why vapes so heavily promoted. Who cares if you get lead poisoning and are stupid if you die later and can work longer.

[-] Maroon@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Vapes have lead? I thought they were concerned about the aerosolized polyethylene glycol.

[-] JamesBoeing737MAX@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Vapes work by vaporising the liquid using a metal (usually leaded) coil (Edit: which heats up and cools down rapidly and many times). While cigarettes also contain lead (like everything else), it isn't nearly as bad.

[-] anonfopyapper@lemmy.world 20 points 5 days ago

Yeah change shit to piss.

How about... None of those and touch the grass idk?

[-] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 31 points 5 days ago

If you’re gonna make me get up too early to go to a place I don’t want to be and deal with people I hate I’m gonna need drugs to keep from causing a scene.

[-] trevor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 5 days ago

Yeah, can we stop normalizing extremely harmful and addictive substance use? It's really weird how there are so many pro-smoking posts cropping up everywhere.

Anyone I've ever met IRL that smokes deeply regrets ever starting and would never encourage others to pick it up.

[-] mbp@lemmy.sdf.org 31 points 5 days ago

Idk, if a meme convinces someone to start smoking, they probably would get into it regardless.

[-] trevor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 5 days ago

Memes that depict it positively are a subtle way to normalize the behavior.

Aren't you convinced yet?

[-] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

As a one time thing, sure. But when they start seeing it several times a day, it makes it seem normal. It maybe adds to their curiosity so they end up trying it.

Remove the cigs and it's actually a good upgrade, coffee does not cause much issues unless you drink 3 glasses a day

[-] TomArrr@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

Whew, I have at least 4 coffees, so I skipped the danger zone

I think the world is a better place without foam cups and cigarettes

Vaping and energy drinks have there own problems but are not nearly as bad

[-] endless_nameless@lemmy.world 40 points 4 days ago

Those disposable vapes are so fucking bad for the environment

[-] boonhet@lemmy.zip 10 points 4 days ago

They're also mostly for kids, who shouldn't be vaping anyway. They should be banned.

...and your lungs

Sure they are probably better than cigarettes but the bar is extremely low

[-] endless_nameless@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

I'm not one to complain about what harms people choose to expose themselves to. Everyone owns their own body. The environmental damage effects us all though.

Paper cup coffees and regular cigs are better of these evils. Foam is cursed, but not as cursed as disposable or even rechargeable vape. It's like comparing soft and cold, but someone's more obvious individual likeness to get a lung cancer may be less significant than a trace of li-pol batteries they'd leave after them, I believe.

You shouldn't smoke cigarettes.

But a French breakfast is a glorious way to start a day.

If not for the Marlboro at the bottom, I would have been left puzzled what the top left item is.

[-] tetris11@feddit.uk 17 points 5 days ago

It's a boofer. You use it before anal sex to scent and clean your butthole via steaming

[-] flandish@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago

can confirm. tetris has a fantastic smell to their butthole. it’s kinda floral.
