I have recently acquired a patio heater with a 9Kg gas bottle. Does anyone know if it will be affected by any future government bans? I don't want to buy another gas bottle if the government will ban them in two years. Or are these gas bottles not effected?

It's fine.

The Climate Change Commission recommended that the government sets a date to stop new gas connections. It won't affect existing gas connections and it won't affect the supply of gas. And they're not going to stop anyone using their gas bottles.

The day the govt bans 9kg gas bottles is the day they ban BBQs, and I just can't see that happening.

It's always good to have a second gas bottle. Our bbq is our emergency cooking.

It won't be banned any time soon.
