I do believe you're right. Conservatives constantly demonstrate their hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty as well as their self serving nature. There's a real possibility for people publicly railing against mandami to signal in-group but vote for him in the secrecy of the booth to their benefit.

They always confuse socialism with harsh authoritarian dictatorships, no doubt reinforced by right wing rhetoric. It’s ironic that people flee these crushing governments only to come to the US and vote for right wing authoritarian fascism. I always try to view a subject as if I were an uninvolved third party, look for objective facts, and because of it I'm always getting into fights with excited revolutionaries who don't care if post is true or not before using it as support to reinforce their worldview.
