People have lost their fuckin minds if they think China is less evil than 5 or 10 years ago.
Boycott US
Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

I don't think many people are saying that. It's the heel-turn by the USA that causes them to prefer China lately.
As a Canadian, I personally agree that my stance on China has become more favourable because of the shift in perspective that the USA currently offers. Not because they've suddenly stopped imprisoning Uyghurs for existing.
Name a country China has bombed or invaded unprovoked.
India like hundreds of times.
As somebody already mentioned, Tibet.
They've also destroyed multiple vessels including civilian ships near the Philippines.
The provided armaments to Iran which ended up in the hands of Hamas leading up to the October 7th music festival attack, which sparked the flames for the ongoing genocide. Iran also used those weapons on their own civillians earlier this year resulting in between 6k and 40k civillian casualties depending on your source which is actually higher than the casualties for the ongoing war with the USA (which can also somewhat be attributed to China due to the afforementioned hostilities with Israel (and China literally aided in Trump's reelection)). They're also the source of weapons for the Houthis and Lebanon.
In Asia they are the military backers of North Korea, who actively threatens to destroy Japan. In the past they've armed factions who committed coups in Vietnam, Myanmar, and Myanmar AGAIN. They also supplied weapons to Indonesia which likely ended up getting used somewhere in Papau, but that one isn't as fair because at this point who hasn't sold to Indonesia.
In Central and South America they are the military backers for Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, all militant dictatorships.
In Africa, they rebuilt the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School which is established as a collaboration between the CCP and the Former Liberation Movements of Southern Africa. This is the most benign entry on this list so far, but looking at China's track record you can probably see where it's going to end up.
The also did all of this to Hong Kong:

And if they weren't too busy executing their own military leaders, chances are they'd be invading Taiwan already. Chinese Military spending is growing massively, growing about 5x in 20 years. Currently, China contests lands in Taiwan, Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea, and India (which China claims is actually Western Tibet) and they're getting less "diplomatic" about it every day.
Also, China has promoted conservative leaders including the GOP and even Donald Trump by name as well as the AfD.
Does active support for Russia count?
Tibet
I am afraid when trump is out, it is going to be business as usual
I def won't be returning to anything American for a while. Maybe if multiple left-wing progressive Dems are at the helm for a longer while, and break down the invasive surveillance capitalist state.
But until then, goodbye America.
I’m not too sure. I think after the first term people thought that the Americans will learn from their mistake and move on. But now Americans proved that they’d vote for Trump a second time so who knows who could be president in 1, 2, 3 terms. The trust that the US would be fairly stable foreign policy wise is gone
Isn't soft power just capitalist colonialism without guns.
When has the USA bullying of a foreign government ever done anything but turn around and bite us in the ass? Iran, Iraq, Saudi, we made all of those messes.
Just because china is trying to be an imperial power is no reason we should keep trying to be one.
On the flip side, China is in a perpetual war with India. Has subjugated Tiben, and is now colonizing it with Han chinese. Is trying to take the south china sea by force. Including raming other countries ships. And pursing Wolf deplomacy to scare the shit out of all it's neighbors.
There are no good guys here, only greed and men with micro penises that like to rape.
Isn’t soft power just capitalist colonialism without guns.
No it isn't.
In politics, particularly in international politics, soft power is the ability to influence or persuade others through the use of persuasive means, as opposed to the use of force or coercion, which is an aspect of hard power. This process entails the strategic shaping of others' preferences through the use of appealing, non-coercive, and attractive means, using culture, political values, and foreign policies to enact change.
