An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

https://dullmensclub.com/

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

Nice! We just did this and got one of those slow close ones with the easy clean quick release; absolutely love it!

Whenever I'd move into a new apartment, new toilet seat is a week one project lol

A toilet seat is a toilet seat, am I wrong? Unless it’s a bidet seat

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Rookie...there are round and elongated (giggity), the kind that slam down and slow close, heated and padded. There are entire engineering classes dedicated to the human ass.

[–] David_Eight@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You're wrong, some are definitely more comfortable than others.

[–] 007ace@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

And the soft closing seats are a lifesaver! Every seat I install needs to be a soft closing seat now.

[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

Yep. My bidet in the master bathroom automatically opens and closes but we do have a soft close in the secondary. So nice.

I do have the problem now that when I use someone else's bathroom, I either leave it open because mine closes itself, or I just tap it to close because of the soft close one at home so it slams closed.

It's embarrassing sometimes.

[–] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I dislike soft closing seats because they come with soft closing lids. And soft closing lids close too slowly. So I need to hold down the lid with force while I flush, or poo microparticles will get all over the bathroom. I could just wait for the lid to close before I flush, but ain't nobody got time for that.

[–] nycvin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Courtesy flush while still seated. That's a twofer (no pun intended)

Right after new shower head...

[–] Dave 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

New? Last time I moved house I just swapped the shower head from the old house with the one at the new house, no one is paying that much attention. Wife thought I was crazy but I have no regrets.

[–] vrek@programming.dev 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

True, I've had same shower head for 4 apartments now

[–] weps@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I replaced it and it's kind of loose

[–] Ertain@feddit.online 2 points 2 days ago
