Get a carbon monoxide detector.

[-] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 28 points 3 weeks ago

Check for bedbugs. Hopital now

[-] rants_unnecessarily@piefed.social 13 points 3 weeks ago

Sorry, but what's bedbugs got to do with it?

[-] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 23 points 3 weeks ago

They can cause changes in mental status through sleep deprivation and other comorbid stuff.

[-] rants_unnecessarily@piefed.social 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Ah, right. I can understand that.

Thanks.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah the mental effects of them are awful

Decent Reddit pull

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 58 points 3 weeks ago

Crazy.

Here

Even layman Autism tests are pretty crazy accurate even when self administered, for those who score high.

If you score high, don't pay. You're on the spectrum. Like 97%.

[-] gedfromgont@piefed.ca 59 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

And just in case you are from Germany you should follow it up with this one:

Am I German or Autistic?

[-] froh42@lemmy.world 34 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

This test diagnosed me as 20% German (haben die Lack gesoffen?) and 40% Autistic - which I feel should also a bit higher for the overlap of some symptoms of ADHD and autism.

Scheißtest. And it hasn't the obligatory humor markers that are required on humor on the internet by the Digitalhumorerkennungsvorschrift, so I'm not even sure if I should laugh or not.

[-] absGeekNZ 3 points 3 weeks ago

56% German, 31% Autistic.

As a Kiwi who has never been to Germany; seems interesting. I am an engineer though; so maybe that increases my German-ness somewhat.

[-] smh@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 weeks ago

70% autistic, 20% German.

I'm still disappointed at the guy that said he'd sue me and everyone else on the council I was on. It's been years and he never followed through on his threat. Why would someone lie like that? /s

[-] kaida@feddit.org 9 points 3 weeks ago

What I expected: 100% German
What I got: 24% German, 80% Autistic
Huh?!

[-] Lumidaub@feddit.org 8 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

20% German, 67% Autistic. Is taking the test maybe already a sign of low German-ness? Do real 100% Kartoffeldeutsche just not worry about being autistic? Is that why I can't find anywhere to test me? Is this me very stereotypically overthinking?

[-] Lumidaub@feddit.org 5 points 3 weeks ago

I just made ~~the Northman hunk I pulled by being autistic~~ my husband take the test and he got 33% German, 36% Autistic, "Neither somehow". This is confirmation for my hypothesis that wanting to take the test is already a sign of autism. The test even speculates that he's my control group.

[-] RidderSport@feddit.org 5 points 3 weeks ago

Other way around for me. I think Autism and Germanness is nuanced towards eachother. If you do some things not exactly German, because you had Cornflakes instead of Müsli then you get a few percent more autism as a score. Are your parents perhaps Antideutsche or at least spirutually part of the 68er movement and not engineers?

spoiler/s of course

[-] Lumidaub@feddit.org 4 points 3 weeks ago

My parents don't talk about what they did around 1970. (ꏿ﹏ꏿ;)

[-] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Apparently I'm the control group, neither German or autistic.

[-] Randelung@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

That was ... hard.

[-] toynbee@piefed.social 2 points 3 weeks ago

I don't like this quiz.

[-] python@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago

I've recently learned that when an experienced doctor administers those tests you also get bonus points for being overly pedantic. As in, if you feel the need to clarify every single question, get frustrated about the questions being too vague or get annoyed at the answer options not being specific enough, that will push you towards the diagnosis even before any sort of score is counted.

Oh, and most people with a false negative on the test get there by assuming that everyone feels like this. "I'm not abnormally sensitive to any sort of material. Just velvet and styrofoam are the worst, but everyone hates those so it's normal"

[-] toynbee@piefed.social 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I've recently been reconnecting with my nephew, who is my son. I didn't have sex with my sister; my first ever girlfriend tricked me into getting her pregnant and my sister, herself sort of an adoptee, was looking to adopt at the time. I enjoy being able to describe him as "my nephew, the one who is my son" because likely there aren't a lot of people who can accurately say that and, well, it gets a reaction from anyone paying attention.

Sorry, got off track, though it was relevant to the narrative. My sister, his mom, works in the field of psychology and has informed him that he is likely autistic. Though not by her, I've been told the same thing many times by many different people. Last weekend, he and I spent an hour or two playing a game and voice chatting. We both mentioned several things that others have identified as odd behavior that we think is just optimized thinking.

One of my very early Lemmy posts (under a different account) was about how following patterns is a way to make sure you do things right. During the aforementioned gaming session he said "I can't function without my patterns."

I'm genuinely not sure I'm autistic, but everyone around me seems to be convinced I am and I guess I see why.

[-] beejboytyson@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Ya I've been screwed by agreements in the past. I make sure everything is super clearly and no misconceptions aren't made by either party. I score like 1 below definitely autistic. 🤷‍♂️

[-] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

TBF from what I've heard, an experienced psychologist can diagnose someone just by talking to them for a few minutes.

[-] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

I always score borderline on autism tests but I've been told I have symptoms of adhd by my therapist so I wonder if they're cancelling each other out.

[-] libewa@feddit.org 4 points 3 weeks ago

They can, yes. You'll need an experienced psychologist to diagnose that, probably. At least it's not me, too insecure to answer honestly, instead thinking about the "socially correct" answer, because mine would be either too telling or a cringe reference.

[-] neomachino@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 weeks ago

I got 91 does that mean I passed?

[-] majster@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

I scored low. No internet points for me.

[-] pewpew@feddit.it 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Holy- I got the same score as the professional diagnosis I did years ago

[-] hansolo@lemmy.today 49 points 3 weeks ago

Typically, these are scam test charges. They want to make sure the card works and you reaction time to a charge you didn't make. They're usually something like a donation to the Red Cross, but all the info is spoofed. People usually see a donation and think "awww.... Can't reverse that...oh well." Then you get hit with more odd, but plausibly named charges. Then a couple big ones for thousands late one night.

[-] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 14 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah no matter what if you see an errant charge call the card issuer and they'll ship a new one out. There is zero reason to walk around with a leaked card number, let alone one where someone can actively use it.

[-] Malyca@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago

This should be higher

[-] Randelung@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago

Was that someone you?

[-] mappe@moplemmy.fyi 13 points 3 weeks ago

I assume they just get an auto email after submitting the payment that just says "Yep".

$30!? I looked into one and it's fucking $300. Man, fuck America.

[-] NABDad@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago

I just paid for one for my son and it was $672.

At those prices, he damn well better be autistic. You don't want to pay $672 just to find out he's weird.

I talked to my wife about getting evaluated myself, but apparently that's too much money to just confirm what everyone already knows.

[-] meekah@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I mean it depends on what kinda test it was. This $30 was probably just some app, judging by the transaction description. A test by a professional is still like 500€+ here in Germany (at least the few I found when looking for a diagnosis), since it's usually not covered by insurance

[-] binarytobis@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

Recently someone used my email to apply for a few dozen loans. Of course they don’t have access to my email so they can’t do anything with the loans. I get like two dozen emails a day from various companies about it.

[-] JellyManJellyArms@feddit.dk 5 points 3 weeks ago

Hvor kan man tage sådan en test i Albertslund?

[-] possumparty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago

på internettet

[-] Muffi@programming.dev 3 points 3 weeks ago

Hvis du bor i Albertslund, behøver du slet ikke at tage testen ;)

[-] DrStanleyGoodspeed@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago
