Why is the character holding a bowling ball instead of, ya know, a billiard 8-ball?
B) 8 balls are significantly smaller than magic 8 balls so it would ruin the joke in the first panel
I think he's stupid.
Source: magic 8-ball
Why is he holding a single ball instead of 8?
yeah, but the problem is that the world isn't made for people who can use rubber ducks, magic 8 balls, wikipedia and good notes apps.
the world is made for the people that need the obnoxious laugh track and a person reacting to an Instagram reel, otherwise they don't know how to feel.
That's why before any job interview I put a bluetooth speaker in my pocket. Then when I'm about to walk into the room where I'm being interviewed I play a sound file. 5 seconds of silence, followed by a studio audience reaction of when the hot person enters the room.
You know the one.
Hot person enters through the doorway, says 1 sentence, and pauses because the audience is about to lose their shit going WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for 3 seconds. Then the actor says the line again, and continues with more that the one sentence.
So as I'm opening the door, I hit play, walk through the door.
"Hi, I'm here for the interview.......WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Hi, I'm here for the interview. Here's my resume."
"What was that?"
"Oh, that was just the studio audience reacting to the arrival of the main character in your story."
So far it hasn't worked. But I still get the ego boost!
they need a soundboard for federal hearings and trials.
'the honorable judge peterson presiding' <AWOOGA!>
I wonder if Darth Vader had his theme music playing under his cloak as he walked around the death star.
I was interested in this really hot chick, but what ground me down and made me lose interest was that she would not stop sending me these videos... Top 50% of the video somebody would be telling a conspicuously fake "funny" story, on the bottom half of the video was the SAME person but pretending to gut-laugh on a 3 second loop. Omfg.... She was an 11 out of 10 but I just couldn't take it. I cannot pretend I find these things funny.
Heads up, AI related bonds are imploding. Taking the entire bond market with it perhaps. There is a very real chance of a recession very soon.
If you're working class the recession is already here
Ya ordinary people have been broke since before covid, but that's their problem. But when the stock market tanks, it's everyone's problem and we are all in this together.
~~Welfare~~ Bailouts for me not for thee.
Recession soon™️
spoiler
Bitch it's been here lmao
What are "AI related bonds"?
Bond yields are mostly being driven up by pensions cashing out.
AI companies have no reason to invest in government bonds afaik, much too long-term for their immediate investment needs
Data center build outs, and whatever else. When it implodes the government will bail them out for concessions to fuck us.
AI companies don't buy government bonds, but some AI companies sell their own bonds. Google and Oracle for example and I believe SoftFail is also looking to sell bonds so they can refinance a loan they used to get a stake in ClosedAI.
Google's most egregious bond is one that matures in 2126. You'll only be paid interest until a century from now when you'll get the principal back. A ridiculous investment if you ask me, but they say it's fine because thanks to AI they'll earn a gazillion dollars by then and surely won't go bankrupt.
It should also be mentioned that a large proportion of bonds aren't government bonds at all, companies selling bonds isn't anything new, there's basically two ways for a company to raise funds: Sell bonds or sell equity. Bonds are preferable if you know you can pay them back easily because nobody gives up any shares.
People really feel some type of way if you're not impressed with AI. But it just isn't useful enough for day to day and makes up stuff along with being destructive to the planet.
This is the dotcom bubble on steroids. These chat bots have a low barrier of entry. The hardware shortage is the only reason they can charge charge excessive amount for access.
In 10 years your phone will be able to run ChatGPT locally. They know this and it's why they need to sell everyone on these models constantly improving but cannot provide metrics that satisfy anyone who isn't all-in.
archived? i assume you mean achieved
Well In my defense you can technically use Wikipedia and Obsidian to archive information about AI so Im still technically correct.
Haven't you heard of the archival formats .8bal .duk and .zim?
And at least 60% of AI could be done in a lounge on a cocktail napkin, without a subscription.
I approve of this new use of archive in relation to AI.
Someone described politics today as a viscous cycle. Took me waaaay to long to realize what they were saying.

So what is up with the duck?
Not sure with the ball either but seems to me it is a bit folk loreish in the US for some reason.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_duck_debugging
The ball is called a magic 8 ball and it's a toy popular in the US, you ask it a question and it gives you a random answer
Ah, you beat me to the reply. But yes, the implication is that a random answer is a good as AI, and if you explain your problem to a rubber duck you often find the solution by forcing yourself to think about it step by step.
Cmon this is getting ridiculous. How is this any different to being anti-vaxx at this point you are just straight up denying science for... Similar reasons to anti-vaxxers I guess? Keeping in mind anti-vaxx is psychological warfare and you are being crowbarred here for similar reasons.
There was companies that overhyped medical breakthroughs that doesn't make me hate medical science whats up with you guys? This crap has fallen on DLSS literal ethical AI that uses the GPU you are running a game on.. It's just nonsense anti-intellectualism.
And don't get me wrong there is plenty of problems with AI, but they have never been addressed here in the same way problems in medical research aren't addressed in anti-vaxx spaces.
Your argument can be applied onto literally anything. If you dont drink Pepsi your an anti-pepsier and a anti-intellectual because it has so many proven productivity benefits!
No it cannot. The guy I replied to literally referenced a paper they didn't understand. It's actually a perfect comparison. Nice try science denier
Someone tell Arthur Weasly the rubber duck actually has a function!
Why would anyone wanna archive what an AI does?
For when we put the tec bros on trial for destroying our planet.
industry spend
Remember, when you're off the car lot, you have to drop the salesbrochad jargon. It's 'spending' .

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
