Do you not have screens on your windows?

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 9 points 1 day ago

Strangely, many places seem to have still not developed such advanced technology.

What country are you posting from where your sleeping area has mosquitos in it?

Cause I live in the part of Ontario that's basically a rainforest right now, the mosquitos are so bad I can't go outside, but inside there are zero. In part due to helpful spiders.

Shout-out to window screens! With them I get maybe one mosquito in my bedroom a year

[-] Flower@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

WIndow screens and a mosquito net over the bed. The one mosquite that is in the house can't buzz around my head either.

That clunky sentence irks me:

I'll have a good sleep tonight.

[-] lowleveldata@programming.dev 2 points 1 day ago

I think "A good night of sleep" = enough time (whole night) to sleep, regardless the quality. In some case it makes sense because it could be hard to control your sleep quality. Going to bed early is controllable enough.

Old tires are often full of mosquito babies so I always give em a good honk of DDT like Donald Duck taught me

The villain of Rubber claims another victim

[-] MrMobius@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Generally if I can't find the mosquito that's buzzing around me at nught I drag an arm above the sheets like: "Here, land on this and do your thing quietly!". Although it's not ideal regarding the disease they transmit…
