i don't notice my battery life until my phone is dead.
I always chop my status bar out to save their attention span. You're welcome.
Graphene is does it for free you can't screenshot the whole phone, just apps

I still haven't found a good keyboard that does bilingualism right
You still missed one.

haha 5 6 😝
No way it can make it to 69 without help - won't someone consider pitching in!?
For the sake of the longevity of your battery, try to never let it go below 35% and never above 80%.
These guys tested three phones per bucket for 500 charge cycles. Tl;dw:

iPhones lost 11.8% when slow charging for 500 cycles, 12.3% when fast charging, and 8.3% when fast charging from 30% to 80%.

The IQOO phones lost 8.8% when slow charging for 500 cycles, 8.5% when fast charging, and 6.0% when fast charging from 30% to 80%.
Only using half the capacity does make a difference, but you'll only see longevity differences after multiple years, and only small differences then. These tests took 167 days, but the phones were charged and discharged 3 times a day on average, running heavy software to drain the phones quickly.
What I assume to be the reason for the difference between iPhones and Android phones is the maximum battery capacity. The iPhones started out with a much lower capacity battery to begin with, and even now iPhone batteries are sometimes pitifully small, so any wear and tear is magnified.
Also nowadays there are silicon carbon batteries which haven't proven their longevity yet. There are rumors about lower longevity, because they expand and contract more during use. There hasn't been independent testing to verify that yet. What has happened is that multiple Chinese phone generations have had silicon carbon batteries, and now even Samsung is offering phones (new z fold 8 line, soon S27 and more) with a small amount of silicon carbon, increasing the capacity about 10% beyond what lithium would provide.
I use a silicon carbon battery on my phone. 7k mha is crazy good for my needs, it's +40% from a 5k. But for anyone planning on buying them know that the higher the capacity for size the worse their life span should be in theory, since the difference is just the silicon to graphite ratio. More silicon = more capacity but worse life span and more graphite = longer life span but lower capacity. So just because a battery is silicon carbon doesn't tell much about how long it will last, since you can have a SC battery with 5k and 10k mha that would have completely different results.
It's okay I am using a Fairphone. I can just swap the battery easily.
Sure, but why create more e-waste? Might as well make the battery you have last.
Batteries can be recycled pretty well actually.
There are limits to how far people are willing to go, and you're talking to someone who already bought a Fairphone. Maybe not someone you should be overly concerned with, all things considered.
While true, this affects about less than 1% of the battery life and thefore can be ignored
What's this claim based on? The amount of cycles required for the battery to degrade to 80% of capacity is quadrupled when discharging between 80% and 35%. That doesn't really seem to be compatible with the claim of "1% of the battery life"
I pulled it out of my ass.
However I remember a video where someone tested phone batteries and came to the conclusion that you get about 100 days more usage out of the battery when using slow charging and only to 80% in comparison to fast charging and 100%.
While the batteries themselves are good for several years.
Also they stopped at about 60-70% capacity because after that you usually want a new battery.
If I find the video I link it here. Probably most numbers I said are wrong. My memory is just that it doesn't matter whether you care for your phone battery or not.
Mostly because the software already handles the shit.
Edit: the video: https://youtu.be/kLS5Cg_yNdM
Apparently I remember stuff that didn't happen
Its all about the time / percentage ratio.
9pm & 10% => completely fine
1pm & 10% => deranged psychopath
Strong disagree. Phone is to never go below 20%, ever.
Where is your god now? :D

My shit is always on battery saver mode. Even at full charge.
I never let my phone get below 60%, so no one should be disappointed with me
Can't tell you how many times I've checked my battery and it's at 1%
I'm not always so lucky...
But why?
Gotta know if it came from a psychopath
Psycopath is having the status bar absolutely full of notificatipns.
Fact
Everyone with ADHD reading this

No, that's usually the other way, empty except for these status notifications
through a combination of just allowing notifications for every app that asks becauseIm impatient, procrastinating actually cleaning that mess up, and never dismissing anything because "I'll look at that later" or "I'm leaving it there to remind me to reply" or whatever, my notifications are usually insane
What part of battery level means psychopath?
Under 5%: definite Under 15%: likely Under 50%: sus
And what about people who’s phones are really old and don’t last long? And they can’t afford a new one?
Depends.
What percentage are they on?
My mother in law’s previous phone died by 11am. So it would go from 100% to 0% in about 3-4 hours.
Well she went very rapidly from completely unsuspicious to full-on-psychopath and back then, I dunno what to say.
lol
I thought way too long about the psychological implications of having a phone with low batt after reading this.
And it’s always something super low, like 5%.
