"Right after the election, oil prices are going to be tumbling downward. They're going to be tumbling down, and we'll get them down. I think for gasoline we'll get them below $2 a gallon," Trump said Wednesday.
He’s so full of shit.

He’s so full of shit.
Incorrect.
His diaper is full of shit.
Technically... Yes. But he's also full of shit on the inside, with all his hamberders. His speech also gives the vibes that his brain is shit mush. So I'd agree the the other person: he is full of shit, but both on the inside AND outside.
Pretty shitty.
How fucking stupid can people be to vote this turd in.
Oh right, half of Americans. I hate this country.
Musk probably fucking rigged shit. I don't think half of American voters are this fucking dumb.
Also half of US voters have never voted for him. The US election system is just so fucked up that a minority of voters can elect unpopular authoritarian dumbshits like him.
Voters in depopulated hick states have more voting power than the majority of the US population living elsewhere.
I don't know if it's more or less sad, but it only took roughly 1/3 of the country to get this piece of shit elected. Because another 1/3 did not fucking vote. Stupid and ambivalent. That sums up the majority of America.
This is why voting needs to be mandatory.
This is what's really frustrating about being a progressive in the US.
In 2024, the supposed progressives insisted they had to run as conservatives or they wouldn't have a chance to win. The Republicans, though they were lying, ran on affordability and won a landslide, and they've since used their majorities at every level of government to make life more expensive.
And all the Dems are doing about it is sternly-worded letters, while doing their best to kill the candidacy of any Democrat who is actually committed to affordability, whether smearing them as an Islamic extremist, a Communist, leveling a weaponized (and evidence-free) SA allegation, or bringing up a tweet from 2012 or something.
I hate our ruling parties.
Time to move to liters eh?
Don't try to bring logic into America. It will not work.
I think they'd make a new system, which makes about as much sense as the imperial system. Knowing Trump, he'd probably call it The Trump System, wherein 1 Trump will be the highest value you can get to.
5 Donalds and two thirds of a Baron makes one Trump.
The lowest value will be one Melania. You need 172 Melanias to get to one Baron.
I'm old enough to remember when that happened with $0.999 prices. They haven't learned. There are people who like to write the current year as 02026. Maybe they haven't learned either ;).
They will just use high resolution screens now so they can just make the font smaller.
Dude, the digital price tags in stores. You can't fucking read anything besides the price. The BOGO tiny text, the price per unit, ugh, it's so bad. Some of them even try to cram the "scan the digital coupon QR code".
I'll be homeless from expensive groceries before I spend the time to install the stupid app and try to scan a QR code while holding a freezer door open to save $0.50 on green peas. Fuck these fucking companies man.
I'm old enough to remember when tech was making things faster or more convenient. We have fully evolved into the tech dystopia of using our data collection device in the dumbest way to upload even more data.
Scanning those digital coupons makes me so close to snapping. I stopped. I'll pay the oligarchs the tax for my sanity. I don't want to snap at the grocery store employee that doesn't deserve it. I've been on the edge a couple times.
Hexadecimal base (cracking knuckles).
Oh that would be funny. Fucked everything up so bad we even have to change how values are counted and represented in order to continue gleefully ignoring the problem a little longer.
The us could get cheaper fuel my moving to the metric system like we did in the UK when fuel got too expensive
I remember them sticking a 1 on the left of the displays until they got ones with an extra digit...
Why not just alter the significant digits? What is the point of this article?
The digital signs are usually
A.BC ^DE
You don't make gas station signs from a massive LCD screen like your TV. That's a huge waste of money when you can accomplish a brighter and cheaper visual that is a simple array of LEDs or even older non LEDs lights.
Some might not even be able to move the LED that represents the decimal point.
And if you did you'd have a price that looked like
10.9 ^59
Which looks really confusing. Is the price $10.9059? Or $10.9590?
The point of the article is that gas station signs were designed with the assumption that the signs would need to be replaced long before we got close to having a price near $10 a gallon. It's an example of how insane the cost is now. That's it. I think it's an interesting tidbit. Nothing to be excited about. But not something to be bothered by.
